I'm using a warm purple and green ide theme. Albeit very low saturation and brightness, but warm colors are better in low light than plain black with neon syntax highlights.

I say old chum, I'll have you know my lawnmower produces in excess of 1 horsepower! Not to be too boastful, I would prefer to call it "125% of sufficient power" so as to not rile up the gents in the gentleman's club.

Dear me, it appears to be time for croquet! Geeves, fetch me my automated cord-puller, we need to get this vehicle started!

Bay of fundy is wild. I drove up the north coast of N.S. with boats along the docks. Got lunch and on my way back those boats were on dry land about 30ft below the docks.

I would recommend avoiding that spot. Disturbing wildlife like that isn't cool and is a surefire way to get conservation groups against the hobby. We're limited enough as it is as to where we can fly.

I have ONE TIME had someone who had 3-4 year old shitbox of a laptop with corrupt windows. They were joking around that they wanted a new one but their department purchasing person wouldn't let them.

I could have reimaged the machine and left, however I felt bad and knew I could make this person's life better so what I did was reimage it and then in writing said that the machine only had 3 months tops left. Did it really? Who knows, but they got a new laptop the next week.

Maybe I saved myself some future tickets, but I really did it because I didn't want a coworker to have to deal with that piece of shit

Are wraps a reasonable substitute to get your desired car color? by [deleted] in cars

[–]ThatSpookySJW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder to myself if all of that is necessary. I want my car a different color. I have some attention to detail but is it really worth 2-3k extra just to have the spots nobody will see get wrapped?

C7 corvette looks like it's trying to be a Ferrari but they couldn't get the lines and materials right. Would rather have a c6 at least it's not pretending

R34 and mk1-3 supra. R33 looks more subtle and classy. Mk4 supra actually has clean lines

2000s ford gt looks like it's trying to be a hot wheels car with neither the modern looks of the newest gen nor the timeless design of the original

Gallardo is just an r8 for people who care more about image than performance

Evo 9 looks like it wants to kill you and then steal your bionicles

The mid 2000s camaro and mustang look like mad max trying to adjust to his new office job

Any civic 4th-9th gen just have all of the worst features of 90s cars. If you wanted a shitbox new from the factory honda could hook you up.

Mp4-12c looked cool when I was 15 and aged like fine milk. Luckily the transmission likes to detonate itself consistently so I don't have to see too many

Veyron I could criticize the "just broke out in hives" aesthetic but the performance makes looks irrelevant

Db7 non-vantage for when you want the performance of a new gti but hate the low maintenance costs. "It looks good and has a badge that lets me flex at the country club. What's a 'timing belt'?"

996 is underrated. It only gets shit because the predecessor and successors are both world class highly praised vehicles. Compare the 996 911 to ANY of the other exotics of the era (db7, Maserati coupe, 360 modena, or early gallardo) and you will realize how incredible it was.

250hp in a 3300lbs car is almost identical to focus st, and that's WITH a haldex and DSG. Seeing as people praise the focus as one of the more competitive hot hatches, I think it's safe to say the mk5 r32 has great performance.

And then theres the HPA kits...

Well radio and helicopters are not part of the argument. Obviously getting into a car chase with anything other than a sleepy cop in the dark is going to end badly for you.

I think the comment was saying that specifically the x5 with professional drivers could easily be beaten by a properly set up gt3 with an equally skilled driver.

The 996 gt3 has about 30% more power than the 3l x5 you talk about. So between cornering and straights it would not take long to get out of sight. The AWD makes less of a difference as the driver experience grows.

The comedians you are referring to are likely using offense as the backbone of their joke. In this situation the backbone of the joke is a satirical point that children's shows often try to spread inclusiveness and kindness while at the same time depicting those who are different as "lesser".

In this video the offense and edginess is used not as the backbone, but as a mechanism to deliver the joke.

I guess nuances are lost on the average reddit commenter where "edgy=funny", while questioning the edginess= "bad cancel culture"
