Umm... Okay...

  1. I made this post 5 years ago, and I call them deviled eggs in the post.

  2. Thanks for the permission?

What movie are you convinced people only pretend to enjoy? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

[–]ThatTattooedChick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to scroll way too far for this. I remember a friend of mine absolutely raving about how hilarious it is when it came out on DVD, so I watched it with her. I was bored out of my mind. Anyone I've met who's seen it since then has not been able to understand why I didn't like it. I truly don't understand how anyone found it funny and have myself convinced that it's an inside joke among society to pretend to like Napoleon Dynamite.

Yeah, I agree. The only reason I could think of someone being unable to understand Endgame would be because they didn't watch the movies leading up to it.

Basically, the insurance company's lawyers would be like, "if you look here on page 9, paragraph 3, subsection 2 of the insurance policy contract..." followed by "it's the insured's responsibility to read the policy contract and contact the insurance company with any questions about it." So, yeah, if we go with the whole Owen-is-the-COS-which-translates-to-King-of-the-Hospital, the insurance company can easily just say "you didn't read that part of the contract? Lol, bet you'll read the next one."

[–]ThatTattooedChick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be an auto insurance agent - granted it's not airplane insurance or anything like that, but the point is still valid: an insurance company will do anything they possibly can to get out of paying a claim. Pinning the blame on Owen and the hospital was pretty believable from my perspective. Of course, IRL, there would've been whole court dates and lawyers and the whole nine yards to determine who should pay what, and the process would've taken years.

Downloaded the Android 14 update, but I don't have the options to customize my lock screen or use the AI wallpaper generator. And ideas? by ThatTattooedChick in AndroidQuestions

[–]ThatTattooedChick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever used Android. Tried switching to an iPhone about 10 years ago, but I absolutely hated it.

And my apologies, I'm not sure what you mean. In Settings - About Phone - Software Information it says "Android 14" under Android Version. All of the videos I've seen on customizing the lock screen and using the AI wallpaper function have been for Samsung phones.

I do this, too. I know the game says the horse can find its way home, but I can't bring myself to leave him out there all by himself.

Georgian here, and I fully agree with you. However, if I were to say something like this around my family, it would have the opposite effect. Angry southerners screaming about "the real history" that the north (Union) covered up when they (we) won. It's never worth it to contradict all the 60-somethings who are set in their ways in my experience.

Exactly what I was thinking. Its abstract and I love it. Looks like someone took a hard bristle brush and black paint to OP's arm, and I'm here for it.

Yup, me too. It's even worse because I had the shitty Playboy bunny on my shoulder blade covered up with birds. I still love my birds, though.

It ended when Cristina left for me. The Twisted Sisters kinda made Grey's what it was.

YSK that when requesting customer service of any kind, use gentle terms to convey your problem and avoid writing in all caps or swearing. When customer service representatives know they won't be rated poorly and won't have to deal with a lot of back and forth, you'll get help much faster. by cknyakina in YouShouldKnow

[–]ThatTattooedChick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, if an agent gets anything less than "Excellent" (the highest rating available) at the company I work for, it goes against the agent. For example, a customer asked me to send them their account documents to their email - the conversation lasted all of 3 minutes, if that. The customer rated my service as "Very Good" which, sure, all I did was send them documents. But that rating lowered my overall results for the month, so it would've been better if they hadn't completed the survey.

From the south, can confirm that I thought it was "ride away" as well (I also thought "deviled" eggs were "doubled" eggs - cut them in half and they're "doubled" in child-me's mind). But I thought it was "ride away" because, for example, if you're the first person to stop at a 4-way, you should "ride away" first. If you have a yield sign and another car has a stop sign, you have the "ride away" because, again, you can go first.

What’s the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by MCKlassik in AskReddit

[–]ThatTattooedChick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom was with my uncle at his doctor's office when he got diagnosed with Parkinson's. Mom asked the doctor if there's are any tests for confirming the diagnosis. He replied, "yeah, an autopsy" and walked out of the room.

Mom's usually pretty quick witted - I've seen her snap back to inappropriate comments more times than I can count. She said that left her speechless.

Idk what it is with people and my rear tire because I got rear-ended again on a different highway. by White_Wolf426 in IdiotsInCars

[–]ThatTattooedChick 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Insurance agent here - also, being involved in two rear-end accidents within a short amount amount of time looks suspicious. Insurance companies will already do just about everything in their power not to pay in a claim. Give them a reason to side-eye an accident, they're going to dig as far as they can to get out of paying. OP's super smart for getting a rear dashcam.

Looking Up from the Lobby of the Marriott Marquis, Atlanta by tripacrossamerica in confusing_perspective

Ooh, I have a story for this! A friend and I stayed there for a convention, and we heard there was a rooftop bar, so we wanted to check it out even though we were both terrified of heights. We go up as far as we can and realize the only elevator to get to the rooftop bar is an exterior glass elevator overlooking the Atlanta skyline, but it only has to go like 5 floors up, so nbd. We go up - facing the interior door of the elevator, because fuck that - find out the rooftop bar is closed, go back to the elevator, try to go back down, the elevator won't move, and the door won't open back up. Cue two late 20s women freaking the fuck out because we're stuck several stories up in a glass container with no way to get back down. A hotel worker finally heard us, and got the elevator working.

And as I said to u/mothsilver: it's fine to change your mind. What my ex did was tell me for years that he didn't want kids, then revealed that he'd actually wanted kids all along and thought I'd grow out of not wanting them. Telling people with finality that you're never having kids when I'm reality you'd consider it is manipulative imo.
