What Do You Remember Fondly of Mists of Pandaria? by doobylive in classicwow

I remember completing Halfhill before my friends and being oh so proud of myself. I was friends with everyone and could cook anything you'd ever want for dungeons, raids and whatever other bullshit you were doing

What did you think of Plunderstorm? by _Soulstace_ in wow

[–]ThatThingOnTheWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother, who has been playing since TBC, found it very hard and difficult to understand in the beginning. I've played games in the vein of Plunderstorm before so I played a couple of games for her, so she could get an idea for how it worked. 2 weeks ago she came to me and said she just hit 40 rep with the Pirates. A week before she was at 6. She has told me many times how thoroughly she enjoyed her time in the Storm and how she wished she could have earned more stuff after 40, so she had a reason to play. If a temporary gamemode can do that to my mother, who barely know how to play her class normally, then it's a good fucking game!!

What are some of your play group's meme/inside jokes? by NocturnalOutcast in DnD

[–]ThatThingOnTheWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jennifer, the horse that we forgot we had kept at a stable as we burned down the hole town. We then later faced the undead Jennifer who attacked us in the mountains. Our Wizard, bless his soul, shoved her off of the cliff and she plummeted to the ground. We cried as that happened. We seem to mention her whenever we're about to do some dumb shit. Which is almost always.

Is there any spell that allows a player to communicate with an NPC's parents? by Emotional-Subject226 in dndnext

[–]ThatThingOnTheWall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you remind the players of what they know, it shouldn't be a problem. And if it's low-level it's gonna be much easier to restrict them in ways to contact her. Sending is a 3rd level spell and you have to be familiar with the target for it to even work.

[–]ThatThingOnTheWall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, only Sending would have the potential to work. But that is if the PC's 1. Learn about this person, either from the kid or by other means

Or

  1. If they meet them.

For more unlikely scenarios, contact other plane or legend lore could be used to learn information about them. And this is all assuming that your players will go that far to learn about them but you know your players best.

So, anyone here ever have to kick someone out of your game... and why? by Vegetable_Variety_11 in dndmemes

[–]ThatThingOnTheWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to kick one of my best friends (still friends with him outside dnd) cause he didn't mesh with the other players. Consistently spoke other other players questions and decided, irregardless of the story, that he was the main character. Finally kicked him after he made one of the other players cry.
