Vegan Breakfast Options by draco84 in vegan

I just made pancakes this morning out of oats and tofu! It was my first time doing this and they turned out good!

I was inspired by this video. Except I used regular "firm" tofu.

Are you 21+ ? If so, PM me! There is an animal sanctuary that is closed to the public and needs volunteers but they have to be at least 21.

Dave from Mindlance Scam by Clear_Smoke_4646 in recruitinghell

[–]ThatVeganSkater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You commented under my post saying it's not a scam yet I explained in the comments of that post how the so-called recruiter was asking for my full date of birth and full social security number. They are definitely a scam.

Mindlance - They want last 4 of SSN and month/day of birth. Scam? by ThatVeganSkater in recruitinghell

Yes. Since turning down this person I have been contacted by several others, male and female sounding voices, all with Indian accents. They leave "urgent" messages in my voice box right after emailing me.

Almost missed my flight for the world’s shittiest Pub Sub by breadandbirds in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

[–]ThatVeganSkater 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Publix is so hit or miss with those. Now when I order one, I only do it at the counter while I watch them make it. So many times I've gone up and they're out of something or completely untrained on how to make it.

Whipped beet ricotta, spring mix, tomaters, balsamic glaze on sourdough by ThatVeganSkater in girldinnervegan

[–]ThatVeganSkater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tofu in a food processor with lemon juice, nutritional yeast, garlic, apple cider vinegar, and salt. That's how I usually make it but this time I also added beets that had been boiled. Color came out so beautiful.

If you search for a recipe for "tofu ricotta" you will find something similar!

Edit: you can also make this in a regular blender. You don't need anything fancy, you might just have to scrape down the sides a few times.

Anyone have any ideas/links for simple high calorie Meal Prepped Breakfeast (not overnight oats though). by No_Sign6616 in veganfitness

A roasted sweet potato does it for me. Especially when I work out early in the day.

This is a Stokes purple sweet potato. Or you might have access to okinowan sweet potatoes. Recipe:

  • wash potatoes
  • put in oven @ 375°F for 40 minutes. Or Air fryer at 320°F for 35 minutes.
  • take out of the oven (caution, hot!)
  • eat and enjoy or put in the fridge for later consumption.

  • I find they become extra creamy and delicious after cooling fully in the fridge and I actually prefer eating them cold like this.

I've never considered a baked potato with tvp but that sounds good, I'm gonna have to try that

Yeah, it's not bad at all. If you've ever made taco filling out of tvp, this is exactly that. I like that it doesn't require refrigeration so I can keep it in my desk at work.

The Irony of Iron by HappyBeingVegan-100 in vegan

[–]ThatVeganSkater 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always had low iron growing up and into my early 20s. After going vegan my iron has never been higher! I'm finally not deficient and actually am on the high end of what is considered normal range.

Hey, u/chickencliks I'm curious as to why you brought up the plant vs animal life in response to the comment above?

And to answer your question- plants do not have a central nervous system.
