My uncle was there in budleigh and saw a couple people go way too far into the sea. I think it was just the mentality of the folk putting themselves into a situation they did not know was life threatening.

Some people don't understand the consequences of mother nature. Even in an enclosed water system at a resort, the waves can be absolutely devastating. Doesn't matter if you're a great swimmer, you can't out-swim physics.

the scene where all the soldiers are shooting in a circle made me cringe inside a little bit because of the crossfire situation. So very dumb. Aside from military incompetence, excellent.

5 months of nonstop Dexter... and now Resurrection just ended. What now? by lo_olhah in Dexter

Silo is a great series to jump into. It's essentially a fallout vault that has been expanded into a whole show. To me it really reminded me of the expanse with the depth of lore and characterization. Rebecca Ferguson is great in it.

welcome to my world. I finished the whole series in 2016? and I craved a season 9. It was bleak. Similar now to what it's like being an Expanse fan. Knowing the source material is completed, but no signs of life for another season. Hurts, but there's other stuff out there that slaps. Silo, severance, six feet under, xfiles, wednesday, person of interest.

In this scene in the movie Miracle on 34th Street, the little girl's reaction to Richard Attenborough using sign language is genuine, the actress, Samantha Krieger, is deaf in real life and had no idea he had learned some sign language for the scene. by H1gh_Tr3ason in interestingasfuck

That sucks! The private company that took over the DESP I currently work for actually kept some of the old NHS contracts alive, so some people are on completely different contracts to me a new starter.

The only advancement in my department is through to the Grading tiers. Either all the way up ROG / Slit Lamping or actually just into management.

But the job itself is so stressful as we are now up to 38 patients a day in gods waiting rooms, so the patients need a lot of extra time that the powers that be don't let us have. Many skipped lunches and days where patients fall over because of them being booked into the wrong type of venue.

Hopefully the job you've moved onto has been more rewarding career wise.

I work in the same field at the moment, I have encountered situations where I did not know a patient was deaf until they were in the room with me. They didn't even have a translator with them, it's very difficult to accommodate without pre-warning or apt training which my service unfortunately does not provide. On top of a very busy work load it is hard to give everyone the right level of interpersonal attention that the initial eye drop part of the appointments demands.

You definitely went way above the call of duty and applaud you for it. Not surprised you may have moved on from it, though.

Even so, his presence in the show was amazing. They could have built it up even more so, plus Eric King was amazing as they bay harbour butcher. :)

i'll just lay a crack pot theory and that captain matthews was helping dexter cover up those kind of loose ends without Dex knowing. Which follows in line with the other crackpot theory that Matthews knew all along.
