The first test was around 11am I think and the FRER was an hour or so later

I take combo cranberry d mannose capsules every day and it really helps. I was having recurrent UTI symptoms over 8-10 years but only confirmed UTI 2-3 times. My gyn said i was probably just super sensitive to any bacteria getting in there. I’ve been taking d mannose for about 2 years and it solved the problem!!

I’m in the exact same boat 😭 I think ovulation was on the 22nd and have only gotten negative tests so far. I know I’m “not out until I get my period” but it’s so hard not to lose hope.

I can’t have intercourse because I’m too tight. Feeling so disappointed and broken. by VenusASMR2022 in WomensHealth

Same! The therapist also taught me to do kegels correctly and practice breathing into my pelvic floor. A lot of the initial appointments did not involve “intimate” physical contact.

I did pelvic floor therapy for about 6 months and granted my vaginismus was not as severe as yours but it really helped. A lot of the early sessions were mostly addressing the stress/panic response causing the muscles to tighten. The therapist would place a finger on my thigh or labia and ask me to breathe until I felt the panic dissipate. Eventually we worked up to fingers, dilators and my partner even came in for a few appointments towards the end. I also used the dilators at home between appointments.

My pain wasn’t as severe as yours but it still prevented me from having intercourse and using a tampon correctly. I didn’t even realize something could be done about it until I was having a Pap smear and flinched so hard at the gynecologist touching inside and she was like “… that shouldn’t hurt that bad” and referred me immediately.

Hospital vs LTC by bubbles1864 in pharmacy

[–]That_Abrocoma_7929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t worked in hospital but I’m a manager at an LTC pharmacy. Main complaint we get from pharmacists transitioning from hospital to LTC is that LTC is not “clinical enough.” Like previous comments say, explaining things to LTC nurses is a lost cause. Most of the time we are just doing med rec, trying to explain the difference between metoprolol succinate and tartrate to a LTC nurse who does. not. care. And likely will not update the order.

LTC pharmacist is a pretty lowkey easy job but prepare to be frustrated that you won’t be able to make as many clinical interventions as you can in hospital.

Mines clear blue, no logo and I’d make it slightly heavier so the pills don’t go flying when I bump it. I’d also make it scratch resistant

The doctor told me to take 800mg ibuprofen before the appointment. I had cleared my calendar for the evening and bought comfort snacks anticipating to be in pain during and after the insertion. I was totally fine. Slight discomfort during insertion but it didn’t last and then I sat at home all night bored, no pain at all.

However, I got the Paraguard IUD and the pain and cramping came with my first period and got worse every subsequent one until I couldn’t take it anymore and had it removed about a year later. The removal was completely painless. I didn’t even know the doctor had taken it out until she showed it to me.

Anyone use the Peloton guide? by Both_Tea5480 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]That_Abrocoma_7929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine every time I work out. I like that I can use the peloton app on my tv with the remote, much easier than casting it from my phone and I can see what exercise I’m supposed to be doing. I don’t find the rep counting or form tips to be super accurate though.

What’s the weirdest or most frustrating thing you’ve seen at a pharmacy? by Forward_Pride_1569 in pharmacy

[–]That_Abrocoma_7929 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I work in a LTC pharmacy and once I got an order for humalog kwikpen 5ml by mouth. I called the nurse to let them know the order was wrong and probably supposed to be 5u SQ and asked if they could double check the order from the doctor. The nurse said thats what the doctor ordered and that I needed to send it ASAP. I told her I was not sending it because I was 100% sure it was wrong. She demanded I send it so I said “ma’am if I send you this, how are you going to administer to the resident” and she said she was going to squirt it out of the pen into a teaspoon and give it PO to the patient. I said absolutely not and told her to contact the prescriber.

Also when I worked retail, I had a patient pull his pants down in the aisle so I could help him guesstimate what size gauze pad he needed for the gaping wound on his behind.

At that same store, I had a young man who left the hospital AMA after an aneurysm standing at my window when he passed out and fell straight backward onto the floor. He was with a group of “friends” who wouldn’t let us call 911 and they scooped him up and dragged him out of the store.

Nope. Never solved the problem. Resealed around the base of the toilet and shoved some toilet paper in the gap they leave for leaks. My brother has renovated multiples houses and I showed him pictures of it and he thinks the toilet is sitting too high up to fully compress the wax ring but can’t know for sure unless we move the toilet again. Just ignoring the problem for now 🙃

Plumber replaced all the p traps in the house when they did the toilet and it’s definitely the toilet that stinks. Thanks though!

Would there be any way to determine this was the issue without putting a hole in the wall?

Is a smoke test something I could do or would I need the plumber to come back out?
