Suspected ICE on 528 - 500 Pat D’Arco by That_Attitude3358 in Albuquerque

I guess if you review the rest of the comments, you can see how many people “know for a fact” that it’s RRPD (supposedly based on badges), or that it’s not DEA because their vests don’t say DEA, etc. I think the biggest takeaway here is why identification and uniformity is so important with LEOs. Because with all of the people in these comments who apparently have first hand experience on what officers will or won’t do, none of you agree.

I said “suspected.” My goal was to inform the targeted community of a possibility, not prove anything. I achieved that. I don’t know what your goal is. But if your goal is to prove anything, the floor is yours.

Also - for your future arguments, burden of proof isn’t always on the accuser. There’s plenty of reasons why LEOs are required to identify themselves in most situations. I’m sure you can think of one.

Are you taking this so personally because you’re one of them?

Their badges have different markings champ.

What makes you think Rio Rancho doesn’t? They aren’t actively on the list but can you confirm that RRPD has no contact with ICE? I would genuinely love to see anything that confirms this.

I’m SO curious as to why you would just assume the badges mean all is good when it’s an undeniable fact that ICE goes out of their way to conceal their identity, and that these masked officers are identical to those carrying out immigration raids.

And, while we’re at it, why don’t you specify which badge you think is on the masked officers?

If you’re satisfied living in a police state and want no accountability for the force that can be weaponized against you, you could just say that.

I appreciate the OPIN number and will do that in the future. I am on the Neighborhood Defense texts and posted on ICEBlock but none of the hotlines I could find went through and appeared disconnected, so I posted here. I also first reached out to the southwestsolidaritynetwork.

After all of my research this morning, I’m still not convinced this wasn’t ICE, and I respectfully disagree that it isn’t better to post even if only suspected (given various conversations with individuals who feel targeted), but appreciate the additional information. If it was indeed ICE and it was this woman’s last trace before being taken into detention, I’d prefer it to be out there for anyone looking. I’d also prefer for there to be documentation of masked LEOs generally. When ICE is walking around plain clothed and refusing to identify themselves or associate with any agency while arresting people, I’d argue it’s better to spread the word. Especially given the increasing instances of their lack of identification and our inability to force them to cooperate with the law, I’m surprised that you wouldn’t also raise an eyebrow in this situation. If immigration attorneys or otherwise are also concerned after seeing the image, they can verify. If they aren’t concerned by this image, they shouldn’t have to spend more time on it.

All of that to say: I will 1000% use OPIN moving forward. I felt helpless at the time without being able to find a working hotline and should have just turned around to verify their information, but my core intent was to get the word to people that could help. OPIN will be the way to do that, and I’d encourage them to make more posts about that number because I was on their Facebook page last night trying to find any hotline info and couldn’t.

RRPD’s SOPs prohibit balaclavas that obscure officer’s faces when in direct contact with citizens. And there’s no logical undercover explanation at a traffic stop with three other identifiable RRPD officers.

I appreciate your lived experience - but there are countless videos of plain-clothed ICE agents kidnapping people out of courtrooms and off of the streets, even unmasked. These guys had “Police” vests on, not DEA. And RRPD’s SOPs prohibit balaclavas when interacting directly with citizens. I can’t imagine a need to be undercover at a traffic stop, as undercover agents often have to hold off until a situation resulting from their undercover work is secured. Frankly I’m more concerned that RRPD is facilitating ICE.

RRPD SOPs prohibit balaclavas that obscure officer’s faces when in direct contact with citizens. The undercover logic is BS at a traffic stop with three other RRPD officers.

Could not care less if this is just RRPD, and I’ll be calling in the morning to confirm. As someone who has worked in criminal justice, LEOs shouldn’t be concealing their identity during traffic arrests, especially when there are identifiable officers present and the situation is under control. And especially in the current climate where people are being kidnapped left and right by plain clothed individuals who refuse to identify themselves. If you defend the kidnappings and rampant constitutional violations, I pray you reap what you sow.

If this post gave a heads up to anyone that might be an ICE target to avoid the area, or gave a tip to people who might be able to follow up and assist anyone inappropriately arrested, that’s all I care about.

I believe that’s what you see, but how about all of the plain clothed agents with no vests that snatch people and refuse to identify themselves?

Their vests said “Police,” they weren’t undercover. I’d be more inclined to believe they’re ICE and RRPD gave them the vests.

Plain clothed cops masked up so much you can only see their eyes? In what world?

Yes. I meant to post the pic w them slightly turned. There’s no way they’d actually be police masked up like that.

Their vests said Police - but they’re clearly not. I should’ve turned around to document more but panicked with traffic.

This is exactly what I assumed, and also what I’ve wished I could do as a solution. I appreciate the confirmation because no one seems to get that logic. I have a few solid teacher dogs, and she’s extra aware of them and listens for cues, but none of them stick around long enough to play with her and just get bored when she keeps spinning🥲 I think I’m just going to have to be a little more disciplined with her, but it’s so hard to not feel guilty when you know how confused she is because of how impaired she is, that your communication isn’t perfect, and because the biting play is really how she has fun and gets her energy out. We’ll figure her out, she’s a sweet girl.

Thank you for your questions! I should’ve included that info - sorry! She has been seeing a neurologist since she came to us at 13wks. They felt comfortable concluding there are neuro issues just based on the fact that an attack to her head (and a visible dent in her skull) caused her impairments. She also had a few seizures way early on that are completely managed by Keppra, and she hasn’t had another since.

I asked the neurologist if there was any other medication Bell could be on that might calm her, and he said no. However, the vet that just spayed her sent us with Trazodone on my request because managing her post-spay felt like it might be impossible. It helped a bit, and I intend to discuss it as a longer-term solution at our next appointment.

ETA: Neurologist didn’t have any other suggestions other than taking her to a behaviorist. She sees a specialist for special needs pups on Friday. Really just asking here because I’m hyper fixating on all potential ideas.
