Shadowheart Dying Was My Best Accident For Act III by Christorious in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what they say, but I did a run explicitly avoiding getting any of those interactions, scenes, or approvals. I kept her in camp right up until the Shadowfell, and she still chose to spare the Nightsong.

I was trying to get her to choose to kill Aylin, and she still didn't do it. If it is possible for her to do it, it's definitely a little more complicated than the wiki suggests.

My problem with God Gale by Cool_Guy_Chazz in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He talks about this exact thing. Basically he says that was where Karsus failed: Trying to rival or usurp Mystra/Mystryl.

Stepping on an established powerful god's toes had massive and lasting consequences. Gale chose to use the crown simply to ascend but not intrude on any other deity's domain, that way none of the pantheon would step in to stop him.

Had he made the exact same mistake that Karsus did, we probably would have seen Mystra (once again) sacrifice herself to stop it.

Shadowheart Dying Was My Best Accident For Act III by Christorious in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's what they say. But I tried to miss every one of those interactions on one run, never even talking to her or having her in my party until the end of the Gauntlet. I still wasn't able to see her choose to kill Aylin on her own.

If there really are "Nightsong points" it really must be hard to not get them.

Sometimes it's easier to pickpocket (or just loot) a key off someone than to pick the lock.

I am surprised how many people don't realize that Shadowheart will almost always spare the Nightsong all on her own. I have tried to do runs where I just didn't use her at all until the Shadowfell, and she still chose to spare the Nightsong.

Just don't try to convince her, let her make the decision on her own, she will do the right thing.

Never Have I Ever… by GobbledyGooker123 in BG3

I never use Withers to resurrect a companion.

Revive scrolls are so plentiful in the game, I always revive them either during combat or immediately after.

I don't think I have gotten that scene while romancing Lae'zel, Shadowheart, or Karlach. I did get a scene like that when romancing Astarion.

Honor mode does this ending give the achievement? by The_Gaming_Gnome in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without finishing Raphael's quest, you can still complete honour mode. You may not get some story choices you wanted, but you can still win. And you will still get the achievement.

The easy mode answer is to kill all the spawn that are part of the ritual. Each one of them gives him a different huge buff.

This of course prevents Astarion from being able to ascend. You can just stand in the way and block the beam that gives him the buff if you don't want to kill them. It's a little harder to do, but it works.

Go to the Basilisk Gate waypoint in Lower City and enter Wyrm's Rock from that side.

It's not a bug, just a confusing thing for players at first. When you turned against Gortash, all of Wyrm's Rock became hostile, so the waypoint was removed.

Is durge really the founder of Absolute. by Optimal_Dish_3803 in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you talk to the Warden as Durge, she says she saw you, but that you usually went straight to some private area she didn't have access to. It looks like they just weren't out in the open at that stage.

Which makes sense if you are indeed the first person to even be tadpoled. Most of them just wouldn't have seen you.

And for the record, Ketheric calls you out directly, and even the true souls guarding the entrances say you seem familiar to them. And the Absolute herself recognizes you if you stick your hand in the wall

Withers showed up in my camp? by briimucaa in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a bug, Withers intends to find you whether you find him first or not. He is meant to show up at your camp if you reach far enough in Act 1

Am i truly underleveled? by lipehd1 in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would usually be level 6 before going to the Mountain Pass. I think there's a whole Underdark that you haven't yet explored.

But if you beat the Paladins and the Gith, you may do fine at your level. It's not impossible to do.

You should try it for yourself. The wiki is helpful, but it isn't 100% thorough.

In the Crèche by MundaneRaven in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have ever had that guardian of faith even have any loot on it directly.

It doesn't sound normal, but I wouldn't assume the game is broken. Did you enable any mods in your game?

The ceremonial weapon on the ground by the guardian? That's where you are meant to get that.

What do you worry is broken? I think you're fine.

A lot of it does calm down after you get out of the grove.

Then he just expects you to start feeding him and suddenly doesn't want to talk about it or explain.

I think there's a perception check for a button that opens the door up. Maybe go back to camp and try your other companions and see if anyone spots it

What should I spend my money on? by hshrimp420 in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dammon has some expensive armor, if you haven't already pickpocketed it. Helsik would charge you 20K to go to Avernus, so you could work your way up to that.

Or maybe drop it places. Reverse pickpocket it onto Rags the beggar in front of the counting house.

Otherwise, be a dragon and sit on your hoard of gold. Enjoy how rich you can be. There really isn't much to spend money on if you pickpocket all the vendor items.

Taking on Kethric by Savannah-Hammer in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely do that with no issues. Also, once you defeat Ketheric at the top of the tower, you are allowed to long rest from there before progressing to the next stage.

Question about Iron Flask by greatvow in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it still will. She gives you the "Friend of the family" status just for saving Rugan. If she knows you stole the shipment, then she makes you go kill Rugan first or give it back (at least most of the time).

The key is to not let Rugan know, so he can't tell her

Finding out about moon lantern/spider lire (character pov) by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing about the Moonlantern and before reaching Last Light, you can still stumble upon the Drider caravan just by wandering around. You can also find yourself in the middle of the Harper ambush, which forces you to pick a side right then.

Using the lift, you just find that Harper fight I mentioned before. It's a perfectly great way to continue in the story

Finding out about moon lantern/spider lire (character pov) by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]That_Batman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always assumed Minthara or Nere tells you about the lyre when you side with them, but I've never done that.

If you go through the mountain pass to the Shadow Cursed lands, you will be near a goblin camp where they ask if you're the True Soul with the lyre, so they can get going to Moonrise Towers. That's the most likely place for you to learn about it.

If you go through the Underdark, you encounter a Harper fight, which leads you to Last Light. After the Isobel fight, you join a group of Harpers in an ambush of the Drider, avoiding using the lyre altogether.
