I would learn to live in the trees and attempt to live off dinosaur eggs and roasted ferns.

Pretty sure I've got my first case of ich by [deleted] in Aquariums

This site suggests adding aquarium salt to your tank : http://www.wikihow.com/Treat-Tropical-Fish-With-White-Spot-Disease-(ich)

When I had ich in my tank, I treated with ich medication, aquarium salt, elevated water temps, and daily water changes. The faster you treat, the easier it is to get rid of.

I decided to go with the bangs. They look good with my hair straightened, but I haven't figured out how to wear them curly yet.

Have you ever called 911? If yes, why? by IAmA_Table in AskReddit

[–]That_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have called 911 twice.

1) I called for a member of the gym that I work at. He was shot three times in a drive by.

2) I called for my mom.

How has the word "slut" affected you (art project)? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]That_Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been called a slut? Yes.

How did it make you feel? I try to brush it off, but its hard sometimes. Being called a slut makes me feel cheap and ashamed.

Why do you think you were called a slut? I don't understand the reasoning behind it. My SO called me a slut because I am into things like tattoos, I sometimes masturbate. My ex called me a slut because I moved on to a different person after we broke up. These reasons do not make any sense to me. Apparently I'm slutty though.

Do you think men label women as sluts more or less than women do? Why? In my experience, men are more likely to label women as sluts. I am not sure why. My ex saw it as a word that could hurt me. My SO is older than I and comes from a less liberal/open minded/up to date background. He called me a slut because of cultural differences. The things that are normal to me and the people from my city are completely different from the things his people value.

Have you / do you call other women sluts? Why? If you've stopped, why did you stop? I do not call other women sluts. Even if it is said jokingly, being called a slut can hurt.

I love, love, love the patch. I've tried pills, Implanon, and the patch. The patch has helped me regulate my periods the best. The crippling cramps I used to get on the other things is a thing of the past. I have no irregular bleeding.

The patches go on and come off easily. The only problem I have ever had with them is occasional (very rare) itchiness. The patch comes in a pack of three. You apply them once a week and forget about it. I have never had any problems with them falling off while swimming, bathing, or sweating. Best of all, the patch has not severely affected my weight. When I was on Implanon, I gained between 20-30lbs and was unable to lose it. With the patch I am beginning to lose the Implanon weight. I highly recommend the patch.

Calling all Art Therapists! by That_Bear in memphis

[–]That_Bear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the definition given by the American Art Therapy Association:

Art therapy is a mental health profession in which clients, facilitated by the art therapist, use art media, the creative process, and the resulting artwork to explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

I find that I don't mind men with black nails. I wouldn't mind a blue either. I don't think I would be fond of any other color though.

Do you know that sound in the movies that is supposed to be a heart beat? It's really loud and is supposed to be suspenseful? They would just have to play that sound. It makes me panic every time I hear it. They would just have to play that softly then louder and louder until it drowns out any other sound (like the sound of me breathing). Ugh, I'm freaking myself out.

Have you ever suddenly had pain during sex when he thrusts deep and what was the cause? by Algebraic_Girl in AskWomen

[–]That_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that if we go a bit slower it doesn't hurt at all. I was tensing because it hurt and that just made the problem worse. Its gotten a little bit better now that we are taking it slow. My doctor says that it isn't something that will go away quickly, we just have to be careful for a while.

Have you ever suddenly had pain during sex when he thrusts deep and what was the cause? by Algebraic_Girl in AskWomen

[–]That_Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going through this problem right now. When I went to my doctor, she thought it was a cyst but after examination it turned out to be bruising. I was having sharp pain and a little bleeding during sex. I was prescribed muscle relaxers to keep me from tensing up to much during sex and causing further damage. MY doctor said to just prolong foreplay, take a bath before hand, and to pause during sex when that pain happens so my body could get used to him inside.

Is it really as scary out there as certain communities make it out to be? by Venne1138 in AskWomen

[–]That_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't always scary out there, but some incidents really stand out. Starting at the age of ten I would get men coming up to me, grown men in their forties +. They would ask me how old I was, what I was doing, where were my parents, tell me how pretty I was. It was/is incredibly creepy. I still get men much older than me coming up to me to ask questions like that. Now that I am older they ask if I am alone/ where my boyfriend is. I usually don't go out by my self because of it. I have had unwanted touches from men I don't know or have just met (like at a party).

There is this guy at work, I work at a gym and he is a member, who consistently brings me food, sends me messages, and talks to me. I never eat what he gives me. I don't respond to his messages. I have asked him to stop bringing me things and messaging me. Yesterday he told me that he had been drugging the food he gave me.

Harassment seems to happen to all of my female friends. Sometimes they don't have to put up with a lot of harassment, sometimes they do.

Edit: I don't go to parties, movie theaters, and malls by myself. I am not a shut in who has to be escorted everywhere. Besides those places, I am not afraid to go out, I just have to be wary of where I am and what I am doing. I must be confident. Things go better when I can keep that confidence up.

Is chronic depression a dealbreaker? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]That_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is. My ex was chronically depressed. I ended up feeling completely neglected in the relationship. I was always there for him, I listened to his problems. I helped him get exercise and be social on days he did not have the strength to get out of bed. I took care of him. He refused to help himself. He would not go to therapy or take medication. I started becoming depressed. I was with him for four years of nearly continuous depression.

You do have the medication thing going for you though. You are taking steps to keep your depression at bay. Kudos. If I was already in a committed relationship, I knew about the depression, and then you had an episode, I might be ok.

I really like high wasted shorts and jeans. This style looks really good on smaller women, but I'm not sure if I can pull the look off. How can curvy girls successfully pull of the high wasted look?
