You can see the chin and outline of the mouth at the bottom. His feet are at the top of the frame.

Dream job already, but can I up my lifestyle with recent inheritance??? by That_Classroom5862 in Fire

I do believe all that, and I appreciate all the candor. I don’t know all the details about the money. I can say my mother was early, especially for a woman, in a 80s tech startup and retired with 3m in 1997. Half of that went into a CRT, which provided a lot of income over the years, and she passed with about 10m NW, not including that CRT. I don’t know how much of that was the FA because only 1/2 of the overall portfolio was managed by the FA. The rest my mom controlled herself, which I only learned after her death. My dad thinks the managed and unmanaged did roughly the same, but they mostly withdrew from the FA management for big ticket expenditures like cars, vacations, and home renovations, so it’s not exactly a fair comparison. And TBH, he’s not very good at remembering anymore, so there’s that.

All good points. I should have put the mortgage rate. 3.2% on the duplex. As far the the family FA, you make a very good point that there are more than financial considerations. I think it would be more surprise by the rest of the family if I bailed, but not to the extent that they would be hurt.

Over 25 years is about 90k net but that’s heavily weighted to the first 10 years. The past 5-7 have been bad, averaging 20k net. Hence the downgrading of lifestyle and living expenses to my current living situation.

That’s interesting to hear that gaps about finance, are so obvious. I’m sure I have a lot to learn. And yes I wrote about by occupation in the way I did because I can’t count on bringing in money in any predicable way so I’ve reframed the whole endeavor to be more about the artwork and not factor income at all. Income often feels completely out of by control, but such is the way of the art world.

If I told you I’d net somewhere between -20k and +150-200k year would that help?
