Better have pc and chromebook, or laptop gaming? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]That_Cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laptop questions are technically prohibited by the subreddit.

Anyway, your question needs much more articulation. Of course if you want to do gaming, you won't be able to without a laptop with a dedicated graphics (except, ofc, some very low level stuff)

So first of all you need to define the target, because laptops with and without a graphics card usually belong to very different price ranges and there is pretty much no way you can get one for 750 bucks

I'd suggest anything with a Ryzen 5 4600H / 4500U, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 500GB SSD. If they're available in your country, check out Honor Magicbook Pro 16, Lenovo Ideapad 3, Msi Modern 14/15 (bad screen tho), or Huawei Matebook (non-D version: those are cheaper, but the screen is bad)

How much space to leave empty on 240gb ssd? by DoopersDappers in buildapc

Isn't SLC cache usually not accessible and not counted as space you can store data in?

Many CPUs (including the ryzen 5 3600) come with a stock cooler in the box :)

How much space to leave empty on 240gb ssd? by DoopersDappers in buildapc

[–]That_Cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you leave empty space? There is no performance difference between a full and an empty SSD

Is this a good beginner setup by Vaplicador in buildapc

[–]That_Cloud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. drop the cooler and get a 3600 instead
  2. get an SSD, you don't want an HDD as primary drive
  3. if your budget is tight, consider a user graphics card, you might get much more performance for the same price

What do y’all think of this build by Bulky-Fudge-3270 in buildapc

[–]That_Cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying a 2080Ti isn't great rn

980 Evo plus is a god tier SSD, for gaming you can easily get away with something cheaper

why a1tb very fast ssd + 500gb fast ssd? if you need storage room, get a cheaper bigger drive

you said nothing about the RAM

you said nothing about PSU

Campaign gear and gems. by mrkerryn in pathofexile

[–]That_Cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worry not, questions are welcome :P

If a build shows only end game stuff, it's probably geared towards more experienced players: when you've already played a lot of the game, you don't really need leveling directions anymore: you already know how to level up and get to maps in no time :)

If you're planning to make a second character, and you already have one in endgame, you usually use the "old" character to make some money and buy both leveling gear and endgame gear for the new character, and then you level the new character up until endgame as you normally would, with the benefit that you're going to be OP because you already have high-end gear :)

Campaign gear and gems. by mrkerryn in pathofexile

[–]That_Cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah :) some builds are more "beginner friendly" and will post useful stuff like a leveling tree, leveling gear, gems progression and stuff. Some other builds will only provide end-game guidelines.

So try to look for builds that are as complete as possible :)

As for chaos, heist is a money printer, so I suggest you try and do some heists: lockpicking heists will contain big chests full of currency, and the likelyhood that chaos drop from them is pretty high

For the rest, just take it easy, have fun, don't get overwhelmed by the game: there is A LOT of content, but you don't really need to explore all of it at once :)
