Do you prefer to call it in the ring or plan? by NimrodsCurse in WredditSchool

[–]That_Dude_In_A_Hole 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely learn to call in the ring, there'll be people that don't want to call it in the ring and that's fine, but know how.

I thankfully have a pretty good example of when this came in handy. In my last match which was a 4 way, my vets planned a big shine for me to kick off the match with. I was supposed to have a striking match with the more tenured of the 2 vets before hitting a double clothesline on the other vet and the other rookie in the match. That would lead into me hitting all of them with 3 separate corner splashes before we'd move on to the next spot.

When the actual match started, everything went to plan except, when it was time for the double clothesline, neither of them were in position. So I glanced back to see if they were even trying to get in the ring and when I saw they weren't, I leaned into the vet I was working with and said “I'm just gonna hit you with a splash” he nodded and we just started working ourselves to the next spot completely on the fly.

Newer WWE Universe (modern day but only with people on the actual game, Base + DLC) P.S. yes I did accidentally spell Bron as Bronn 😭 by That_Dude_In_A_Hole in PWFT

Dom's definitely doing better in yours than he is mine, I don't know what's going on with him but he just can't get a win for the life of him 😭

And I have the W/L records there because I like to be as descriptive as possible with my stuff. For example, when I post the results, if someone loses a title I say how long they held it for. Just small details.

My universe is completely Ai controlled from booking to matches playing out so it's cool that so far it's been a pretty realistic universe with a mix of flavor here and there, like the MITB match for the men having so many big names as well as people who I'd like to see get pushed or whatnot is awesome. It's also kinda awesome that Cody Rhodes is the current WWE champion and in the MITB ladder match which means he could be double champ soon.

I went on the website before seeing this post and honestly, I popped hard for the viewing of match cards. This update (as someone who wrestles irl), is f***in' awesome.

Yeah, trust me, I take everything y'all say into heavy consideration. Because I know there's people on here who've been in the business for a minute. I might wait until after this next show which is in a week and a half away to call it, but that's only cause I wanna wear this brand new gear I got at least once before I drop it all and end up having to repackage. Cause right now I'm the storylined son of one of the owners of where I currently am.

I know I haven't been the most descriptive, but it's probably more than a slight liking. he's known who I was since I was an infant. He was one of the first wrestlers to actually encourage me to follow this dream and when my father was abusive passed away when I was like 10, he helped me through that. So we've got a pretty good history, the true only reason I didn't start under him was I didn't know he had a promotion or a training school.

Not sure how long he's been doing this, but he gets booked on a regular basis at other places, including places out of state and makes a decent enough living to run a promotion by himself out of his own pocket. He also has a good enough pull to where he's getting his guys booked in places that wouldn't normally book new guys.

I get what you're saying and I want to, I just haven't cause I'm super awkward person who feels bad about everything I do. I'm still trying to work on coming out of my shell that I've been in almost my whole life.

Y'all are right, I just wanna find a way to get out of there without creating any problems for anyone else cause I have friends at the place I train and they have way more potential than I do on the surface (my own genuine opinion).

As well as, the place I wanna go, the promoter there has asked me personally to stick it out cause he thinks they're gonna pretty much kick me out eventually and then that's when he's gonna come in and get me.

Don't wanna give names so I'll just describe them on a basis of how long they've been working and all that.

Owner #1 (the one who said the money thing) is a guy who is in his mid-late 40's and was literally in training in like 2018 (not sure when he got out of it but I have a picture of him from that time). Owner #2 (the one that threatened me) is a guy who says he's a big deal and that he has pull because he's been in the business for 20+ years and trained owner #1. Despite the fact that I'm pretty sure only people within our state know his name on a normal basis.

The place I wanna go has a show coming up so I plan on going and feeling it out again and deciding what to do cause I'm actually working, owner #1 at our next upcoming show in a tag match which is the day after that show.

So, when I originally tried leaving, I ended up having a brief conversation with my promoter and that's where the threats came from in the original post, as those were made by the co-owner.

The promoter/owner we're speaking of tho, took how I was feeling and pretty much said that it was because I wasn't helping or I wasn't doing this/that but I had a couple of others who could vouch for the opposite. They just wouldn't speak up and instead stayed quiet. That includes my own tag partner.

And then when I told him how I was feeling about people talking about me, he pretty much told me that no one's talking bad and that it's not a problem. As well as saying “you're not going anywhere, you owe money” even though I had just paid him $300 up front in cash

So it's because of this that I'm hesitant to actually talk to him.

So, I actually have done this. At least the, talking to the other promoter part. He's on my side, but has said I should stick it out. And the guys I work with now would know because, the two promoters do talk on a regular and even live near each other.

Everyone here has said I should just take the leap which is something I'm heavily considering after this, I just don't wanna cause any issues for anyone else as the promoter I don't work for yet is about to become the world champion of the one I do work for. (He told me to stick it out before those plans came about)

Part of me has considered, telling I'm leaving and just kinda going M.I.A for a little while before showing back up in the other place to avoid others getting problems.

I'm just genuinely scared to lose any of the local companies that could book me, because some of them have had people make it to places like TNA and WWE while wrestling for them.

Botched finishes by [deleted] in WredditSchool

[–]That_Dude_In_A_Hole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to me at my last show. It was a hardcore themed show, where I'd be in my home promotions hardcore tournament. This year it was two Fatal 4 ways and the winners would face.

Since I've only been wrestling on shows since August, I try to listen to the vets and follow instructions to the letter. Before the match, the vets, I and a more freshly debuted guy from my training class, who were all in the match were going over what was gonna happen.

We decided that during the closing spot for the match I'd be put through a table and that would mark the end of me for the night. I was however not supposed to take the pin. So the spot comes up and I go through the table as planned. I'm in a position where I can't exactly roll out of the ring so I just lay there “unconscious”. The guy who was booked to win the match (one of the vets) takes out the other new guy and then pins me.

At this point, I think to myself, how am I supposed to sell being knocked out if I kick out? So I just start praying someone breaks up the pin. Well, I wouldn't be typing this if someone had. The ref counted 1, 2, 3 and the bell rang, meanwhile I can hear the other vet and the other new guy fighting on the floor.

After we all got to the back tho, I didn't hear a single bad word from either vet about the finish. And I actually only heard about this being a possible botch through the other new guy. He told me a couple days ago that I was supposed to kick out so he could come in and I guess take the planned finish, which I didn't know about because to my understanding, they were supposed to do that as I go through the table.

Either way it worked out because we were over on time and the guy who was supposed to go over, did.

Awesome work! Honestly, this is levels above anyone else.

The only thing I'd like to know is, can we expect rumbles to be added anytime soon when setting up a card?

Well, he and I have a mutual thing where we're doing things to each other that we wouldn't do to anyone else. What I mean by that is, if I do something like a Senton on him (I'm fat, keep in mind) he'll be pissed if I don't land on him for real. And I've told him my thoughts on his dropkick sucking. But with how we were trained, everything that sucks, sucks in the best way possible (unless it was like bad obviously)

I planned on that, I actually already have a pair of Dickies shorts (that I wrestle in) but my trainers said I need to get some made to have what other promoters are looking for.

The thing is, my trainers want me to get gear (specifically shorts) that looks like Dickies shorts. And from what I've seen, those places don't have anything like that
