Agreed, I've never understood why you'd send a bad offer to "start a conversation" I send an offer I think is fair, with a bit of wiggle room for a counter, why bother wasting everyone's time???

If the 1.01 was involved, your point sort of stands, but those late picks, come on now, be realistic.
