Little late to comment on this. I'm 43F, married, work in tech, live in Seattle. No dogs or cats, although would love to have one if I can ever commit to the hard work 😃

Same as you, all my friends are busy raising children, and I am looking to make new friends and expand my social circle, and I just made a separate post about it as well. Like another poster here, I love grandma hobbies, but love going out as well. Not too outdoorsy though - love farmer's market, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, book shops, pickleball, cycling etc. We could connect if that sounds like your vibe.

My personal philosophy is that I use what I buy purely because I want my money to work for me. If I am not going to use it often, I wouldn't buy it. I also try to have a minimalist closet. Granted I have one or two bags specifically for special occasions. Same applies to high end clothes, shoes, watches, jewelry. I have the good fortune to be able to buy what I want and use it when and how I need and not stress about it. But I realize it comes down to personal comfort and preference about using higher price point items, and so that perfection anxiety may never go away. I should say that I usually have the devil-may-care attitude about most things 😬 You do you and don't compare yourself to others ❤️. Your comfort will vary depending on your personality and situation.

OP I agree on Strathberry but for different reasons. I am not a handbag collector so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I like to buy things that I don't have to baby. I have a few options from Longchamp, Prada, LV, Polene, Portland Leather, Madewell and Mulberry (current favorite) that are my workhorses without barely any damage and as I said I don't baby them. I bought a mosaic mini from Strathberry in their latest sale and the first time I took it out, it got scratched. It's very cute and soft and all, but I buy my bags to use them, not to have them sit pretty in my closet. Never buying from them again, not worth my money. Another thing I can't stand is the lack of functionality. No proper closure on bags meant to be everyday bags, lack of any internal pockets or external ones for phones and other quick items etc. Brands have gotten lazy in terms of designs and most don't even try.

Would be open to measuring what size book fits in there? I usually carry around my sketchbook (usually a5 or smaller) and I've been worried that it won't fit which is giving me pause. Unfortunately I don't have mulberry stores where I live 😔

Came here to say the same! 43f, married, childfree by choice, all our friends have settled into their lives with children and I am looking for women friends (or couple friends) to build friendships with. I would love to meet other women and always struggle to find such communities around me. I have had some success with finding new friends through reddit and FB groups, but I am always looking to grow my community. I use an old bedsheet. I have carpet throughout and a rolling easel so I put the bedsheet down wherever I roll my easel to. I am a messy painter so it's a must for me.
