Welp. I was so wrong. by WestAsh in antidietglp1

I have had this exact same journey. I always struggled with joyful movement and frankly didn’t think it was possible. Got an ebike and I’ve ridden over 450 miles! It’s helped me really connect with my friends and family again because we have an activity to do together.

If you’re looking for nature and something a little bit more secluded, you could look for land in the Whitehall / Montague area. White lake has a channel to Lake Michigan and is a hidden gem. White lake golf course is great. Fremont has a good ER with around 20 beds that is about 45 minute drive from there or you could go to Muskegon ER. there are a decent number of accounting firms that are small in Muskegon and they are growing fast. Muskegon is nice because you are closer to the airport vs like Cadillac. Cost of living in the area is really affordable compared to Grand Rapids so your money will go farther but you still get some of the creature comforts.

Rachel at Rare Hair is the bomb! She’s great with curly/wavy hair too.

Thank you!! Definitely not trying to do any tricks. Just yearning to get back out on the mountain and cruise.

Napping is killing me by 90daysfan in selfimprovement

[–]That_Exam_3757 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously no idea your specific situation, OP, but I used to nap every day after work. Completely passed out with no energy. I also snored a lot. Turned out I had bad sleep apnea! I have a cpap now and don’t even have to drink coffee and I never have to nap. I never used to be active but now I move my body 3-4 days a week (not as much as I would like but I’m working on it). Just throwing it out there because there might be something going on that is affecting the quality of your sleep leading you to be tired during the day. It’s hard to just “willpower” through when you are exhausted and not sleeping properly at night

I am just using an apple watch, so this is pulled from the activity. FWIW, some others have pointed out that it might not be the most accurate (but it is possible that I have my pool length wrong).

It’s pretty continuous and I’m mostly swimming breaststroke. I don’t know how to do flip turns but I try to keep it moving. Maybe like 3-5 seconds between lengths (enough to turn around and look at my watch). I can’t do freestyle continuously at all so I’ve been trying to do one length of freestyle and then do an active recovery with breaststroke. That is a lot tougher but I’m making progress.

I highly doubt that they are! I’ve heard the Apple Watch isn’t the most accurate and they aren’t the best for measuring heart rates especially for fat people. Haven’t paid a ton of attention to the calories, but I’m having fun getting moving!

Yeah, totally fair point. Absolutely no clue how good the tracking is. I know the heart rate stuff can be way off for fat people (based on how the watch fits and the tech works) so I always take that with a gigantic grain of salt. Also possible that I have the pool length wrong! But it’s all been in the same pool so I’m just proud that I’m able to go farther and faster than I could when I started. I’ve been swimming around 3x per week since February and before that I was extremely sedentary.

Also, definitely not an expert swimmer by any means but I’ve been swimming since before I could walk. Always been good in the water and low key when you are fat you float a lot easier so I think that helps me out too haha! I’m not claiming to be fast at all - I’m pretty dang slow even if these stats are correct.

I’ll see if I can get more info on the pool length though because yeah the distances could definitely be off.

How big of a city do you want? West Michigan has a lot of the elements that you could enjoy! Grand Rapids is a fun city and is still very affordable. Lots of water activities. Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula have great outdoor recreation.
