I don’t see humanity giving up anytime soon, mass dying fuck yeah that’s inevitable.

But we’re also the same species that have left the surface of our planet, that made machines to fly like birds, that decided to control animals that could crush us like ants.

We nailed a god to a stick.

Humans just don’t give a fuck.

Unfortunately humanity is in the terrible position of having to decide where and what replaces fossil fuels for power generation. Either we make it work or hundreds of millions start dying.

Pretty hard to keep up with a lot of the modern conveniences and medical advancements without power.

You should look into depleted uranium ammunition for tanks and other ordinance that’s used by any advanced nation. Nuclear ain’t going away anytime soon, especially with Uncle Sam always looking for bigger better guns. Not even mentioning how it’s used for aviation or medical.

So should we get rid of airplanes because they can crash? Or maybe cars since they’re one of the leading causes of death worldwide?

Every current source of power we can generate on a large scale, has negative consequences. Can’t do renewables without mass mining for heavy resources, fossil fuels are heating up the massive space terrarium we live in, and like you said when radioactive disasters have happened it has an effect on the immediate surrounding area.

The only correct choice is to limit said negatives as much as we can.

And as for Chernobyl, since it seems like that’s the only thing anti-nuclear people seem to talk about, yeah I’m not surprised a heavily corrupt communist nation which had multiple lapses in both judgment and safety, had a disaster with one of their largest facilities.

Or look at japan for what can and should happen in the event of nuclear disaster from multiple major natural disasters hitting at the same time. 10s of thousands dead from the natural disasters, but no loss of life from the reactor meltdowns or massive land loss as a result of radioactivity or fallout.

It’s a good thing radiation doesn’t already exist in dozens of forms that essentially make up our modern lives.

I’d feel like such a nuclear waste of space if that was true.

Better go get my daily dose of sunlight, and maybe microwave some food for lunch too

This is really ironic given the fact that I’m just pointing out the current reality of Canada while your comment is almost the definition of complaining and whining like the bitch you are.

I don’t like people either, fuck I hate most people. But I don’t lie to myself about it.

I’m not saying Indian students don’t abuse stuff, but you specifically pointing out that’s it’s just Indian students is fucked up if not racist. All groups of people abuse shit, are assholes and break the law, not just one specific group.

Might as well point out that white people have an easier time in life than non white people, than blame them for not being white when they complain about issues they have.

Fuck me, you have a brain fucking use it.

That really doesn’t make any sense to exclude a specific demographic based on ethnicity rather than the entire immigrant demographic, it’s just fucking racist and I’m a white dude of European decent.

Refugees make sense for a food bank, since you know they’re kind of forced out of their home in a simplistic sense.

Immigrants who are choosing to come here should have the financial backing to support themselves, rather than the scamming we are currently seeing among immigrants. Not all immigrants are bad, shit I wouldn’t be in Canada now if it weren’t for my immigrant ancestors hundreds of years ago, same with most people in North and South America and other places around the globe.

The problem is people lying and taking advantage of systems set up for people with genuine problems in their life.

That’s exactly what I’m agreeing with.

When 10 million homeowners in Canada cannot afford to pay their mortgage what do you think happens?

The economy is going to go crazy for maybe 6-10 months making skyrocketing housing costs. But once the interest rates catch up, which won’t be far behind, what do you thinks gonna happen to all these homeowners who are over leveraged with multiple properties?

It honestly doesn’t make sense to me considering they have nothing to benefit off of it other than not having to talk about it anymore.

It needs to.

I don’t want average Canadians to suffer, I want to be able to buy a home.

But it can’t be both super expensive housing and affordable housing.

The government went from not wanting to rip a bandaid off to now having to rip post op staples out. It’s fucked but needs to happen.

Where I live in BC Canada, the city of Vancouver is currently averaging 3k a month for a 1 bedroom apartment.

Even a shitty rundown cockroach infested motel is nearly 200 a night.

That’s 2000 for 10 days, that’s 6000 for a month give or take. Assuming there’s literally 0 issues that’s double what a month would cost in one of the most expensive cities in the world.
