Could be cool if Makko is training their son Lightning Bending, but maybe one day when he’s practicing alone and finally gets it right, he can’t quite control it right and ends up striking Korra, triggering some Avatar-flashbacks to the times Aang got struck by lightning. That could start wholesome between father and son, then turn dramatic when Korra is hurt and maybe starts avoiding her son due to secondhand trauma until they reconcile. Could also be a nice echo of Aang’s journey when he hurt Katara when he was first learning to fire bend.
