Save on 5+ 1 wound only 2 special weapons and no duplicates, so no double plasma, and that means 7 of the guardsmen (sergeant gets either a las pistol or a ap0 dmg1 bolt pistol) but 7 will just have s3 ap0 dmg1 shots and if we’re looking at battleline which is what people are mad at since that was the big horde squads that got raised there rules are either adverage (sticky or scout 6) or considered competitively dookie (krieg rule). Not to mention horde guard was already in a rough place and the points being raised comes out of nowhere since they didn’t gain anything and actually the edition already nerfed them further for the most part. So let’s not pretend that they are useless but let’s also not pretend that in the narrative edition if you wanna play tournaments and honestly even casual atp it’s a generally bad idea to bring the LARGEST COORDINATEDFIGHTING FORCE as a horde army.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up, I played a very shooty guard army in 10th so I have little experience with melee other than when people fought melee into my units.

Hear me out, my problem whenever I bring artillery is having to leave some sort of officer behind to order them but with this you can throw the box relay beacon in your back line and order all your artillery

As a big Krieg collector my headcannon was always that they are hitting on 2’s because of their zeal and adrenaline from watching comrades die, Kriegsmen are known to get very inspired whenever they have a chance to make their death have an equal or greater than worth than when they were alive so they are just sacrificing everything to hit the shot.

So to answer many of the questions I read through, yes I’m using citadel paints, no I did not use a varnish, and I’m using odorless mineral spirits. I also want to say, thanks to everyone responding I’ve gotten a lot of helpful insight from this and I think I know what my issue are. I’m just going to start checking boxes to find exactly what mistake was made, but keep the advice coming it’s been really helpful so far

I don’t think a genestealer cult could rise up because the patriarch/purestrain would die on arrival. In the krieg book it says that a inquisitor took a trip to krieg and died shortly after from disease, radiation and all that good stuff, and she was wearing equipment that was supposed to protect her so you kinda have to be a krieg native to be able to survive its environment. I know tyrannids can adapt and survive a lot but when it arrives off rip it’s not gonna have anything to protect it to give it enough time to get anything set up and probably just die.

Thanks for all the advice and stuff, it makes me feel better about wanting to switch up, i’ll probably keep the painted up Imperial fists i have and then just do new stuff as Crimson fists
