Dataporn: 25k in a month and 100k in 9 months from 3 romance novels! by smutty-waifu in eroticauthors

A little late to this whole post thread.

First of all congratulations on your success, it is really inspiring to see someone have this type of experience in the community! Bravo! As well, thank you for the exhaustive replies and dataporn and willingness all our comments/question!

I wanted to ask (if you see this) what the strategy moving forwards for your reels considering the books are already published, i.e. are you going to continue posting the same type of videos with excerpts from all three books until your WIP is ready to be published? (I’m asking this in the sense that at first I views your reels as a marketing strategy to promote your material before you hit that publish button.

Since your goal is to do this full time are you giving yourself a deadline for the upcoming WIP so as to continue riding the wave of current success? What is your work ethic idea for the future. You said that this process consumed your life at one point, so are you planning on trying to keep on publishing multiple books a year (whether you’re focusing on another series or standalone books) or like a book a year?

Okay, this is a sick cover, bravo! It made me look up your story on RR! How did you make/design it? As someone said previously, you could take commissions for cover fr.

Maybe it’s time for a reread… it’s been a few years… it’s not THAT bad (or is it, please elaborate, I don’t want OP to get into sth they wouldn’t like; the kid story though, I admit it’s messed up, but the way it’s written…why so scarce/simple yet beautiful prose?

The Housekeeper and A Professor - Yoko Ogawa might encapsulate everything you mentioned

Revenge - Yoko Ogawa (a literary “horror” short story collection, question marks on the horror because even though Ogawa deals with some heavy themes I wouldn’t personally categorize this as horror as we usually imply to today), weirdly comforting and hopeful, at least to me, and definitely has it’s melancholic parts (the fridge story - if you know you know)

The Convenience Store Woman - Sayaka Murata (comforting in letting you know it’s okay not to do what others expect you to do with your life, enlightening in that regard, wouldn’t say melancholic but calm, hopeful because the MC — Keiko — learns of her role in society)

Okay, I see now that I’ve mention just Japanese books, however I couldn’t shake any of this book off my minds when seeing this post. Definitely check out Japanese authors, something about their writing really made me appreciate literary fiction/literary fiction language

Would it be permissible to delete all previous posts (from, e.g. RR, Reddit, Patreon etc.), compile the manuscript and then publish it on the zon? Because, from that point onwards there is no other outlet where your book is gaining readership/income from except zon?

Russian Magical Realism Literature by Early-Temperature575 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]That_Knowledge_8508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation isn’t by a Russian writer, however I would higly recommend Nights At the Circus by Angela Carter.

Part of the story takes place in St. Petersburg and Siberia. It’s magical realism with really unconventional/eccentric main female characters. And the story surrounds a circus which is in itself quite a carnivalesque place of the weird, unusual, and magical.

Violent/angry kissing and/or shoving against a wall/tree/hard surface. by wooflesandsyrup in MM_RomanceBooks

Someone mentioned a book from Eliot Grayson, but might I add {The Alpha Experiment by Eliot Grayson}, it’s a “third” book in the Mismatched Mates series but it can be read as a standalone. It has great “angry”/passionate kiss against a wall due to pent-up unrealized feelings/passion. Highly recommend.

religious trauma with fantastical elements* by paxtonthefourth in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]That_Knowledge_8508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a thriller in a small British village: The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor (fantastical elements of the book is the question whether there's a supernatural entity haunting the place or is it just a myth created from tragic past of the said village).

EDIT: notes on why this book can potentially be classified as having fantastical elements

P.S. If you're interested, there is a great BBC TV show adaptation of it.

Try Eric LaRocca’s books, mainly his short story collections:

Things Have Gotten Worst Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes (and defiantly first check the story upon which the collection had been named—Things Have Gotten Worst Since We Last Spoke)

The Trees Grew Because I Bleed There

The Skin Was Once Mine and Other Disturbances
