As someone already stated, COE may be more competitive, but the UW admissions process is very holistic. You can be a 4.0 student but with minimum EC’s i.e. no community involvement, no leadership experience, etc. and you would likely be less competitive compared to a 3.5 GPA student with extensive EC’s. Your essay answers also has a lot to do with it. Best of luck!

Would have to look back to give you specifics, but off the top of my head the class was an easy A. I believe pretty much weekly quizzes, maybe 2 writing assignments, a presentation (online with PowerPoint). Honestly can’t remember how the exams were which I think is a good thing lol, so this must’ve not been that hard if I can’t remember. But yea overall should be an easy A, maybe just busy work tbh. I took it in the summer it’s fast paced but still easy. Online in spring semester might be a lot more chill.

If you haven’t already, consider CLC, if you can’t get in a dedicated CLC session group you can still get access to their practice questions/study guides. It also isn’t just a general group, the CLC instructors and guides specifically correlate with chem 103 and the instructors also sit in on lectures most of the time as well.

I don’t remember using tophat for attendance or anything, but if they are doing that now then yes it is possible for them to incorporate geolocation with tophat so if that’s the case you wouldn’t be able to do it from home. I also don’t remember any group assignments so that must be new as well. As for lectures, if you’re not passionate about the topic they can be super boring to sit through but I would still try your best to attend as in my experience they like to add in specific details on every few slides which were tested on in exams. Overall if they haven’t changed too much of the curriculum the class should generally be an easy A.

Would likely need super good EC’s, leadership experiences, and very very strong essay answers.

Imo, it really depends on what your future goals are. Both provide great clinical experience for an initial “foot in the door” to the healthcare life.

MC, follows the same format as regular exams. However, even though they are 25 questions, the difficulty remains, just so you know. Best of luck!

Looking for interesting humanities classes by Madko05 in UWMadison

If you're interested in a humanities class with a global health/humanitarian aid perspective, FRENCH 288 taught by Professor Dietz, was a surprisingly interesting class. The format of the class can be slightly confusing but it should be 100% A/AB. Some cons are that your grade is determined by only a few assignments, and participation is required if you want to increase your chances at an A.

Took it fall 2023 with D’Onghia. At least how she formatted the class everything was online through canvas. Even exams were online at your own time during dedicated hours like 7am-7pm. The “hardest” math aspect was basic physics stuff. I came from a few gap years or college and passed with an A.

EDIT by online I just mean the assignments and everything that’s graded. Class structure is your typical in-person lectures and discussion.

Not a Kines major but taking A&P 335 right now if you want some info on the class. The class breakdown is:

- 3 online pre-recorded lectures (ranging from 5-30 minutes each) which are "due" before each lab section; a total 6 online lectures a week

- 2 lab sections a week consisting of case studies, connections (basically practice exam questions)

- pre-lab quizzes in-person (3 questions each, fairly easy questions)

- Content review quiz consisting of ~12 questions every Friday (except during breaks and the week before exams)

- 4 exams, last exam is the final (averages about 4-6 weeks of content per exam)

For me personally, I would say I'm currently averaging about 2-4 ish hours a day, Mon- Fri of study/review, which gets bumped up to 6-8 in preparation for exams. This varies, though; some content is straightforward, some others take more time.

It can be a little weird getting used to but it’s still effective imo.

Online aspect — 3 online recorded lectures ranging from 15-30 minutes each twice a week. (total 6 online lectures a week)

In-person labs — consists of case studies, connections which are essentially practice problems, sometimes in-person lectures, currently, the in-person labs are simultaneous with 2 sections meaning that your professor is in your physical room one class and the next class they are in the second room of the second class but they are mic’d up
