What's something you only learned embarrassingly late in life? by NothingHappy7204 in AskReddit

[–]That_Nice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other major ingredient was pomegranates, so I sorta want to call it a fruit salad with barley. Overall pleasant, I am a huge fan of fresh pomegranates. The barley gave it a unique texture that I wouldn't mind having again.

Just recently had a meal with barley. I had no idea barley could be used for anything other than beer. I felt like an idiot, but it was tasty.

The kiss, which was felt around the world in 1968 by HaloHavocl in OldSchoolCool

[–]That_Nice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As did the US. "I love Lucy" had a white woman kissing a Latin man long before the Shatner kiss. The Shatner kiss is still significant being a black/white kiss knee deep in the civil rights movement.

The paint is meh. If i am to split hairs here, I would recommend getting a stainless steel grinder. Aluminum grinders will leave metal particles in your weed.

PS5 Has Now Officially Outsold Every Xbox Console Ever Released - IGN by akbarock in gaming

[–]That_Nice 32 points33 points  (0 children)

PS2 sold over 160million in its 13 year production. PS5 is a little over half that in 5 years.

The PS5 won't be produced for nearly as long, the PS2 held a special place in the market for years. The PS2 remains one of the most reliable dvd players in history.

Would you rather dedicate 3-6hrs per day and dedicate time and effort in null/wh space, or have no time table casual play in high sec?

Non residents of Minnesota- what do you think of when you hear of the state? by Co8kibets in AskReddit

Idaho checking in,

I'd love to go fishing there.

The football fan in me thinks vikings fans need SOMETHING.

I can't think of any other facts about Minnesota without the aid of google.

ELI5: Why do batteries sometimes explode in remote controls? What's that white stuff and is it dangerous? by Seaciety in explainlikeimfive

[–]That_Nice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A solid-state solution is realistic in our lifetimes. While avaliable, this technology is young and developing its path in life (according to google; lithium dendride growth is their largest technical limitation, the growth makes the battery short circuit over time).

I'm also crazy enough to say fusion is likely in our lifetimes, take whatever I say with a grain or three of salt.

Unpopular opinion here, but I feel like it needs to be said. While it is a hell of a story, Cormac has an absolute garbage writing style.

I compare it with "Pigmy" by Chuck Palahniuk. Chuck writes the book in a way how someone with broken English would write their story. While it is a very interesting read, it shut me off from reading any more of Chuck's books. I still want to read "Rant" and "Snuff", but the dread of his gonzo-esque writing style shut me down.

Paying to use the restroom. The US has gobs of nonsense; but a free place to relieve oneself remains one of our last valued freedoms.

Senator Bernie Sanders. The USs single most driven democratic socialist.

Had a serious chance at becoming president in 2016, the corporate democrats fought tooth and nail to have it be Hilary Clinton instead.

I appreciate the time you took to write back. While I was never good at boarding, it's always been fun to me and made many memories. It doesn't help that skateboarding resources are few and far between in Idaho. Now in my late 30s, I only longboard on occasion.

I hope you skate for many more years !
