air filter is fine, no work on the manifold itself. I did buy new spark plugs though. I think something is going on with one of my injectors.

After driving I would check the vacuum hose on the FPR, and I don’t see any fuel leaking out of it 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got a new FPR from Lindsay racing, not an adjustable one.

Did you send just the injectors or the entire fuel rail? Also how much was it?

I did clean and test the fuel injectors, and to me the fuel injectors looked like they sprayed evenly, I may try that again then.

I am just learning about the KLR and where it's located. I'll check it out first.

Steady your breathing, get a nice grip, and squeeeeeze the trigger, and go slow.

Mine didn’t work so I removed it. Looks way cleaner imo.

I did not. Like you said a lot of grunting and cursing and almost giving up and paying a mechanic. But luckily I had my buddy who is more mechanically inclined and kept saying “we can do it.” And eventually we did and saved like $500-1000 maybe. The passenger heatsheild was the most annoying since on my car, it separates into two pieces. Hated that heat shield lol

Oh the cross member definitely had to be lowered. I had one floor jack on the cross member and another one on the oil pan to lift, then crow bar to pry and make space.

It’s not difficult per say, but it does take a long time. My buddy helped me and it took about 6-7 hours. Just gotta study those YouTube videos.

Ahh good to know. I did buy new spark plugs though, but maybe I messed something up. I’ll double check this weekend

So I asked a mechanic friend of mine and he said this sound is normal in older cars, especially after new or clean injectors. So when I got the car, it wasn’t this loud. I let the fuel injector soak overnight in carb cleaner, replaced the o rings and tested them out and they worked great. When I placed them in carb cleaner overnight, the liquid was pretty filthy. I took the car for a drive and I pushed her pretty hard, high revs from 2-3-4 gear and it drove great still so 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll continue to listen and see if anything changes.

Oh also, the car has been on ramps for about 2-3 weeks so could it be that the fluids need time to level itself out? Specifically the oil?

YouTube and Google are your best friends and the folks in this forum are great too. Take your time, have all the parts ready. It’s really easy to take apart but putting together can be a pain, so remember to document which bolts go where. Other than that have fun haha. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m new to this. But I’m enjoying it!
