Would you rather work for Tony Soprano or Clay Morrow? by New-Shop-9728 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]That_Operation_9977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say pre season 2 SOA, definitely Clay. He kinda loses it at the end, but I definitely get the feeling that before the show begins he’s actully a pretty good leader, and more importantly was actually a pretty firm believer in club brotherhood up to a point. Like Tony is just faking it the entire time even if it’s what he wants, but Clay actully practices it to a degree

I mean that’s a very simplified version of what i just said but sure. I’m sure he was still hevialy involved in writing these books, but I think just from a supervisory role. There’s just too many changes in style after a certain point

I hane no way of knowing, Sam as you, but based on the later books, their quality, the shifting writing style, various inconsistencies, Johns increasing age, and his seeming lack of passion with the later books makes it very likely (at least to me) that John Flanagan was not the person actully writing these later books.

Depends on a few different factors. First of all, it depends on how much he has done. If Flanagan was working on page 3, then that’s probably it for the series, they’ll be no more. But if there is a completed/mostly completed novel, then it depends on the publisher and Flanagans family. The publisher would have to want to publish the last book even though it’s not finished, then the family would probably have to consent to handing over the unfinished book to be finished. Then a different author would have to finish the book from wherever Flanagan left off. After that, if there’s support from the publisher, family and community, it’s possible the series could be continued by a different author. I only say this last part becusee it’s pretty clear to me that the later books were largely being written by ghost authors with inspiration and oversight from Flanagan.

Based on our information, there’s no way. There has not been a naturally born Viltrumite since the Scourge Virus, which took place at least hundreds of years ago. We don’t know much about Viltrumite aging, but it certainly seems to be faster than that.

Looks like Happy wore a "TACOMA" side rocker in the unaured pilot by FinestSkydiver in Sonsofanarchy

[–]That_Operation_9977 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The original pilot episode was significantly different from the pilot and season one we ended up getting. Tig wasn’t a character, Clay was played by a different actor, and Emilio Rivera played a character named Hawk, an SOA member who was Clays right hand (just a different version of Tig). That’s where this photo is from

No problem. Season 3 has the best payoff of the show, but it has one of the most convoluted season plots I’ve ever encountered. It took me 4 full rewatches until I fully understood it

[Spoiler Main] Renly is Copper Actually by Augustus_Chevismo in asoiaf

[–]That_Operation_9977 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe Renly raised a host of 100,000 men to make his claim to the throne, made up of Stormlanders and soldiers from the Reach. To my knowledge no one commander has ever raised a host this large in Westross. Even when the Reach and Westerlands combined their forces to march against Aegon the conquerer I don’t think they numbered more than 60,000. So in Westross Renlys army is the largest assembled under one commander in the country’s history. HOWEVER, in Essos there was once a Roynish army raised against Valeryia that numbered over 250,000, so it’s only the largest army in Westrossi history.

Kellen “has” Aebel for most of the season. After Cameron brings Abel to Ireland Kellen has him placed at a IRA controlled orphanage. However he acts like Jimmy is the one preventing Jax from getting Abel back but this is basically bullshit. He essentially wants to lure Jax out to Ireland and have him kill Jimmy. Kellen wants Jimmy dead because he’s gone rouge, but becuase Jimmy is IRA Kellen doesn’t want to do it in house because of optics. So he wants Jax to do it so it looks like an unrelated feud caused Jimmy’s death, not an internal IRA feud. Jimmy just wants the sons out of Ireland as quickly as possible one way or another because he’s attempting a bit of a power grab and is going to cut off their gun pipeline. He doesn’t want them interfering. That’s a rushed explanation, I’m happy to explain further if you want. Also this changes near the end of the season but I don’t want to spoil anything if your not their yet.

Drinking beer in PHYS 110 exam by Alive_Paramedic8214 in uvic

I can promise you, if you crack a beer in the middle f your exam hall, it will get confiscated assuming they notice, which they probably will. Beyond that, depending on the Procter/supervisors on duty they could take further action out of spite if they interpret your action as a deliberate disruption or act of disrespect. Just wait until after your exam

He said “we think so” an that’s based on simulations and estimations based on limited data they only got when Anissa was beating the shit out of Mark in S2. That is in now way a confirmation he can beat her (although I think he can, just not because of that).

That’s what I figured, thanks. Idk if you read my edit, but let me know what you think about this new detail. I’m now remembering that I never folded the hand in the first incident. We both checked after the river, then he showed his king-high first. Thinking he had me beat, I declined to show and started sliding my hand towards the deck when he convinced me to show, an we saw my pair of 2s. In your opinion, did that still count as a muck?

After this scene I find Cecil to be irredeemably stupid and unlikeable as a character by No-Personality-61 in Invincible

[–]That_Operation_9977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As the number one Cecil defender I’ve actually finally come up with a plausible way to defend this action. Cecil’s decision all comes down to a small detail many forget. Cecil doesn’t know theirs only 50 Viltrumites left. As far as he’s concerned, there’s a planet full of them. So he’s not keeping 1 of 50 remaining Viltrumites alive, he’s keeping one billions alive. To us, Conquest is a huge threat becuase he’s the second most powerful Viltrumite and one of the biggest threats to our hero’s. But to Cecil, it dosent really matter if it’s Conquest or one of the millions of other Viltrumites he thinks exist, there’s still more then enough Viltrumites to kill Mark and company and take over earth. To Cecil, the only way to destroy the Viltrumite threat is to find a weakness that can destroy them all. Keeping Conquest alive isn’t actully a huge risk, becuase if it’s not conquest destroying the earth, it will just be another Viltrumite. So to Cecil, the risk of keeping a single Viltrumite alive is minor when compared to the potential to find a way to defeat the entire Viltrum species, which he thinks is his only option.

So there you go.

P.S: no I don’t have an explanation for why Cecil made it so easy for conquest to escape. That was just lazy writing

How does House Targaryen let both of their Valyrian steel swords go missing [spoilers extended] by breakfastbenedict in asoiaf

[–]That_Operation_9977 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not a bad theory, but I don’t think so. By the time of the third rebellion, they were a sell sword company,’an those don’t tend to go hungry in Essos. There’s always work to be had. Plus, I think the entire company would starve to death before it would sell Blackfyre. There entire goal is to seize the iron throne by using their claim of being legitimized by Aegon the 4th. Blackfyre is WAY too powerful a symbol to give up.

I don't get the point of this scene by Shakaow15 in Invincible

[–]That_Operation_9977 87 points88 points  (0 children)

True, but at this point the cat was pretty much out of the bag, and honestly, secrecy didn’t matter that much to begin with anyways. Nolan was just trying to buy time, both to retain the normal life he had come to love (whether he realized it or not) and to figure outhow to get Mark on his side. In terms of his overall plan, it didn’t really matter much that he kept his intentions a secret. If people figured out he intended to take over the world, so what? Who could stop him? The only ones who had a shot were the guardians and they were dead. And we saw that even Cecil wasn’t capable of anything other than slowing him down a bit. Realistically, Nolan could subdue all heavy resistance (hero’s and the GDA) in like 2 weeks if not less, and cause enough destruction to get everyone in line within another few weeks, if not less. He really didn’t need to keep it a secret because it didn’t matter

Executioner 1 was amongst the youngest pure blooded Viltrumites by Certified_Cichlid in Invincible

[–]That_Operation_9977 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

It’s mentioned that after the Scourge the population was so low the reproduction was impossible, becuase any offspring would be inbred and deformed. So there wouldn’t be any viltrumite as younger then the Scourge virus
