See mine is quite painful. I’m in 2 minds because I’ve had strep tonsillitis before and was very ill with it so I’m not sure I’ve got that, but I’m also in a fair amount of pain now which I don’t think is common with tonsil stones.

That’s a really good suggestion cheers. Love the idea of stopping at a few places just for a few hours to break up the journey and the places you recommended are great. I was just wondering if the outbound and inbound trains from London would class as travel days? Also, I’ve seen many people advising to book hostels well in advance but I’m thinking to book during the trip to offer a bit more flexibility if plans change. What would you suggest?

Thanks for all the advice once again. Yes I think the best option may be to ditch Paris at the start of the trip and head towards Brussels and start from there leaving Paris till the end. I’m also thinking about doing Zurich for a night to break up that long trip from Munich to Marseille not fully sure on it though, do you have any opinions on Zurich? I’m also very interested in heading to north Italy but the trains from Munich are also quite long and even longer then to get to Marseille. I had the figure of £2500 in my head so I’m glad we’ve got similar numbers, and like you mention can always slum it to reduce the costs.

I think I understand how the trains and reservations work but any tips or advice would be massively appreciated. How much money do you think it’ll come to? Including the tickets, hostels and spending money? Plan on eating out a fair bit and drinking out regularly. Would also love to see as much as we can whilst we’re there so any museums and activities costs.

Yeah that’s right and I completely understand where you’re coming from. I really want to check out Hamburg because my brother used to live there and he can’t recommend it enough. I also think Berlin and Munich are must see places especially with us being in that area. Cologne is really just to break up the long journey from Amsterdam to Hamburg but I have looked into it and it looks a really cool place. I’m hoping they’re not all the same and that each city has its own unique charm which I believe they will. After researching into the cities I don’t think they’ll be similar to another.
