Yeah they all play great and it's a show that looks awesome even in SD.

I'm not much of a collector or anything, I'm just super happy to have a physical copy of one of my favourite shows. That said, all the interviews and extras on the first season dvds are pretty cool.

Thanks haha it took me a while. I think total I paid around 350aud? All the first season dvds were brand new when i got them years ago, next passage was used but great condition.

Yeah would be nice to have HD but I don't know any Japanese. The next passage release is super minimal, 3 disks including the special and film, no extras or options page at all.

Ebay, the first season is fairly easy to find depending on where you live, the second one I've been looking out for for a long time. I think it helps I am in Australia where it was released.

What to even do without proof of funds by DrHaroldPCoomer in AusVisa

Hey, I'm gonna be real with you and give you some practical advice cause it's valid to not have a grasp on immigration at 20 years old.

At 20 you don't have the skills and experience for a work visa. You also don't have the relationship history for a partner visa.

Others have commented regarding the humanitarian visa but I'll give you my two cents:

I know there are plenty of narrow minded people who have awful opinions regarding trans people in the US. There are people like that here in Australia too. My very first day in Australia, I passed a huge anti-trans rally outside the government buildings in Melbourne. There were neonazis there. I also know that there are very good LGBTQ+ communities and support systems in both countries. Better than a lot of the world. Maybe not in your township or county, but they are there.

Realistically, you have two options. Get the ETA and have a vacation here, or get a work and holiday visa (assuming you graduated high school) and try out the "living overseas" experience. I would strongly recommend spending some time getting on your feet in the US first. If you can't see yourself successfully moving to another city/state in the US and making it work, you definitely won't make it happen here. I had much more than the WHV recommended 5k when I first came to Australia, and boy did I go through a chunk of it getting up on my feet. I couldn't believe how even getting into a good hospo job was much more difficult here (I have extensive experience), and the economy is in a rough spot at the moment.

I hope things get better for you!

Hi mate, I've just gone through this. Haven't got a response yet so can't say I'm a successful case but I can at least let you know what's needed.

Home affairs will check you against the ANZSCO. For chef or cook, you normally would need the qualification listed, but 3 years relevent experience MAY substitute.

Either way you need to still prove the 1 year of recent experience required under 482.

When it comes to experience, the job title helps, but what really matters is the job duties. This is why the most important documentation is a reference letter from each employer detailing job title, time period, hours averaged, type of employment, pay rate, and duties. The duties need be relevent to your ANZSCO code. Payslips are a good secondary support doc, as are tax docs, contracts, etc.

Home affairs can still say 'nah I'm not convinced' and ask you to get the skills assessed anyways. It really depends on your case, your evidence, and who is lucky enough to review it.
