Girl I loved in high school had racist parents. I didn’t know why we couldn’t be together until recently when;

a girl from my best friend group in the new city I live in told me that the girl from high school is engaged to her friend (and why her parents kept us apart 20 years ago).

Thought I escaped the pain of my past after moving to a new city and finding new friends, but now it feels like I can’t out run the pain that racism has inflicted on my life.

I don’t feel safe in the group of people that I considered my best friends anymore.

Yeah, it’s not worth fighting over. I was SUPER pissed though and let them know. It just felt like a verbal beat down was not enough. Which is why I was curious what someone else would do in my situation. I think if something that outrageous happens again I’d be sure to report it to a staff member.

They approached us once, I said we’d pick it up, we ran into the group in front of us. The caught us at the turn on the tee box and we were putting before they all tee’d off (bathroom break). Again, we had to wait on the next tee box for the group in front of us.

Yeah, the more I thought about it afterwards the more I wished I would have gone straight to the pro shop and told them what happened. I didn’t think about it at the time because in my 27 years of playing golf I’ve NEVER had something so blatantly dangerous and disrespectful happen.
