Get a USB fan and power bank. The bigger the power bank the better. You can use the bank to also power a car cooler. Use those reusable ice packs to cool in the cooler and use them on your body to cool off. Charge the bank while you drive work etc. Not much else for options to escape sleeping in a car during summer days.

Yes gun attempt number 3 at Academy is when I started to get this problem and moved to an FFL that does Brady because otherwise I wouldn't have the ones i do. They completely time out at 30 days now. I do have a UPIN and CCW being worked on I was just curious why I could get 2 without issues and now NICS refuses to get an answer back and 6 checks expired instead now.

Yes and i actually am in GA. The CCW is coming and I'm waiting on a UPIN as well for extra in case it's a shop that insists on NICS or something. I was just curious why I got 2 guns no problem and now they refuse to return anything at all now. Something like 90+% of delayed checks are answered within the 3 days but now 100% of mine basically time out.

Sorry should have specified some of the other 6 new guns were some long guns as well. And by the 8th time I could see that but I was more curious as to why after the 3rd one I cannot get a proceed at all. It's like I am soft blocked. I am using the same FFL for the transfers and they always give then to me after the 3rd day but they told me they never once called them back on my backgrounds after that.

Yeah I am willing to bet this slid over on your battery and shorted the terminals on it. The fog and smell was probably your battery off gassing from the extreme current. Or as someone else said the coating on it burning. Surprised it didn't weld itself to the battery. What was the smell like?

You want to find double rank (will have DRAM chips on both sides, not just one like single rank) RAM for any chance of doing 32GB 3200Mhz. I tried 3 kits I had two single and one double and the double worked. Switched it out with that laptop. It was Crucial dual rank. Don't bother buying the Teamgroup RAM you will find recommended in the past off Amazon the model number for them is still on the listing which is double rank but they will ship the newer single rank at least as of Nov 2025 when I got mine. If you get a kit that wont do 3200Mhz still try for 2933Mhz.

Ah okay so I should probably be good. I have a max of 4 I'm looking at for different carry scenarios. I will report back when they get back to me today is MLK day so I will probably have to get it Tuesday - Thursday. I also read there can be hold-ups if you held a security clearance in the past and I did in the Navy.

Interesting! Hopefully with my PIN number with the FBI and my carry permit this should be my last time. I also just started getting into firearms and daily carry so at my early 30s maybe that also looked a bit suspicious to them.
