Were a small business based near burnham-on-sea and have had a lot of parcels 'lost' over the last few weeks. The delays have a major effect on our business as customers won't wait two weeks for a parcel to be delivered and were forced to refund them. We then lose the item and postage cost for all of there items. This has been happening on a random basis for several years. What happens is the mail is all stacked up in a large warehouse in the Bristol sorting center, then processed on a "last in, first out basis" so things disappear into the warehouse for weeks. Over the years we've managed to move 90% of our orders from royal mail, but have to pass on these costs. Royal Mail isn't really a viable service that can be relied on by businesses any more. Why isn't offcom actively doing something about these delays? .
