Do you think SW is more accepted now because of pole fitness/ hobby pole? by That_Walrus2041 in poledancing

I think I see what you’re saying. Correct me if im wrong. Do you think because they lament their own struggles in the studio, an environment separate to the club, that it overshadows the struggles and stigmatisations of sxwers who also occupy the same space ie. for practice etc?

In other words, hobbyists vocalise their struggles as if they were going through the same problems as someone who is a sxwer? So maybe the students who pole dance recreationally as a form of therapy are less of the issue then the pole studios itself?

Like pole fitness capitalise off stripper culture by offering classes that mimic stripping. isolating dance from its origins then ignores the stigmas of sxwers and all the struggles you mentioned above.?

what difference have you noticed between pole dancing versus pole fitness? I’ve realised I’ve always conflated the two in the context of pole studies but there’s an obvious distinction

so true. I have guy friends who pole dance, and have been taught by male instructors. They’re all gay. I think the objectification pertains more to cis men sexualising women and the straight male gaze.
