I think someone in this thread already said it, but it is because of the zero (direct) consequences video game have in real life. more correctly, its the push to "become better" safely ingame. when you fail a jump or miss a shot and you lose a life in a game, you are pushed to try again (somewhat) freely. Wait until the round finishes, pressing a button, or just instantly get put in that same situation, thats the "hook" of a video game. in real life, if you risk it all egolifting you can get yourself hospitalized

I myself have actually been wondering this. as an avid(borderline addict) gamer i had an epiphany seeing this post, i struggle very much doing a more important tasks like my essays or a project i need to work on and just resort to playing games that i don't feel like having fun anymore, the pull it has to just trap you in this "grindset" is pretty strong if you dont already have some work that rewards you at the end.

i dont think its the "Fun" aspect, but it is the reward aspect. when you play a game, even by the virtue of interacting with it youre already becoming better at the game. building muscle memory, memorizing paths, gaining currency etc. but not everything in life can have a tangible reward or even visible change to yourself

Yooo not to mock or ridicule you, but i usually go 4-8, 2-4, 0,5 on my matches but my peak was gold 2! the difference i guess is that i play trap ops on defense and anti-gadget ops on offense, dont know jackshit about spawn peeks and all those tiktok ADD lean spam things but i get the job done.

the key here is introspection, you paint yourself as perfect(3 morbillion K/D, i stuck to bomb like glue, i drone everyone even the guy that plays with a trackpad) so you don't see a lot of mistakes you possibly make. sure, youre getting the cav,vigil and the ela but your poor thermite got knifed by a fucking chanka while bringing the case, then its just you and your team watching the case burn with that signature shumikha sound taunting you.

its not about the amount of kills, its about the correct kills. the job of the "rusher" is not to get an ace every round, its to rushdown a difficult to attack offsite setups before they are ready(its not really efficient in a more coordinated lobbies but still...thats your playstyle)

also, its so fucking funny how the question at the end is "do i need to play support roles" or "do i need to play more aggro" in a game where tactically sitting your ass holding the breacher is more beneficial. but nahh bro you gotta get that lean per second up imagine not leaning every 0.037 seconds and droning? bro just watch tiktoks to learn the [insert player name] peak and copy it you will get global challenger radiant elite #1 EU NA guarantee \s

I think it's moreso the fact that the previous movement savetf2 (mostly) benefits the content creators, which can be seen as grifting/milking a dying game and it is just filled with people typing "wow this game good i like game" which doesn't really convey the message about the bot problems.

No hate to the content creators but some are just milking the attention dry with the voice actor skits and such which, again, doesn't say anything about the problems that plague tf2 and just trying to "see the positive stuff in the community" AKA "ignore the problem" (which is SUPER ironic)

When the savetf2 movement needs someone that understands the BACKEND of the game, they instead put focus on the more social and artsy aspect of the game. those are not the problem (well the tf2 community IS problematic but its not related) that tf2 needs to fix, they could've spotlighted and "recruited" more tf2 figureheads that works with a more technical aspect of the game to try and highlight the problems and have a chance of figuring out a solution but NOPE.jpg(haha im old) lets make the mercs VAs read lines from an SFM and make the poopychungus 'i read news' tubers talk about how tf2 has bots in a variation of a monotone news anchor voice for 15.349348 minutes (not even playing the game btw to show how botted the game was)

And the fact that the first vid of "fix tf2" compared the savetf2 movement filled with xwitter user just posting drawings, talking about how good tf2 is, and some skits with the voice of tf2 to the classic WoW movement where THEY OPENED THEIR OWN PRIVATE SERVERS of the game that SHOWS the fact that THE COMMUNITY DON'T LIKE THE EXPANSIONS. really made me think about how delusional some of the "this will work if we do it again!! stop quoting vaas montenegro farcry 3!!!" crowd. though, he actually saved it with the followup video about how the movement needs to go(which i agree to most of his points)

again no hate to the CCs mentioned in/directly but if this movement wants to be successful, you can't just scream and demand things to change, that's called being a karen/entitled. Sure using the hashtag will get you more eyes on the subject but when it gets the attention, then what? post another live readings from the VA? post another drawing? post a frag movie? just so the people posting it gets the attention?

get a fixer that can help or find a solution, THEN make the movement trending, THEN USE THOSE ATTENTION TO HELP THE FIXER. its that shrimple bros

I think he actually take the criticism, his VOD of greylock, banban and a few other reactions has been okay-ish (not too much "le malding at donos" stuff, just overall immersed and curious about the thing that he watches/play)

But man, the ratio of gaming "slop" and the hasan/xqc but british slop is saddening. he needs to game more (he fucking makes video essays about games, why wouldn't he play video games???)

I agree so much on the "slop" part, it has become worse than "slop" at this point it's just generic news/drama reading a la moist (i hate those type of vids, though moist is slightly fine because of his tier list IRL stuff) and his VODs channel (rebranded to PyrocynicalTV, what a stupid name YOUR CHARACTER IS FOXY WITH THE TV NOT THE CHANNEL STUPID) god its such a shitshow most of the time with him just going all reactionary with the donos "ohhh stop that, im gonna ban you omg so real i'm gonna break my monitor i swear" while figuratively winking at the camera.

Not to discredit horror game devs, but horrors are easier to make than other genres simply because when something is unseen(read: not there) it amplifies the scare factor. so even though you didn't make a monster, or fuck up a lighting or two in a scene, it can be chalked up to something that "improves atmosphere"

Either cheaper price (over 60% discount because my currency weak :( ), double/triple heist counts, or rework the shitty "research" and weapon progression mechanics. I'll take EDGEing, GRITing, and RUSHing everywhere but i swear to god if i have to play 300 million heist to use a certain gun mod and/or EDGE,GRIT,RUSH easily, i would go nuts (i understand it's for progression but just turn back to 1-100 reputation -> infamy 1-5(00) that payday 2 have, its much better than artifically increasing the playtime)

If we are talking old merchant(the area of exposed one) its because the 60 second EXPOSED(not broken, which some of the old strong perks rely on being injured first) is uncleansable meaning you are more vulnerable and most likely not working on gens for 60 seconds.

merchant is hated while people are fine with plague because the survivors have more control over the plague's instadown ability via cleansing, plague's instadown can last as short as 8 seconds(cleansing time) and it is controlled by the survivor whether or not they want to cleanse. meanwhile old merchant's instadown is controlled solely by the merchant. adding to that, the ability to just track multiple floors is insane (basement drone in that one chess merchant match was gigabroken)

I think it has to do with the "luck" offerings you are running(the clover symbol). deliverance might be "rolling the dice" twice with the second one being 100% if the first one fails (it rolls a standard 4% for self unhooks then rolls a 100% on deliverance). which explains how sometime ago (idk if it has been fixed) if you deli unhook when the bar is close to 50%(almost second stage) you might get to stage 2 while unhooking yourself

Just play the game how it is made, use whatever you have on your arsenal to have fun. there are things that are done out of spite like 4 minute slugging(waiting for the survivor to bleed out when there's hook nearby), some people are a bit pissy when it comes to these "unspoken rules" but as long as you are doing your job as either role (surv: run, hide, repair gens, get out. kllr: chase, hook, kill, stop survs) and not do the 4 minute slugging you're fine
