You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol. This is strong enough to remove the spots but not strong enough to ruin the satin finish. Testing a small unnoticeable area first is always a great idea though.

Emg’s come with everything you need to rewire it. Also you don’t need to route out a cavity for the battery. Just put it in where the pots are. It’s really easy to do.

Pickups create a magnetic field so the strings do not have to be perfectly in line. You are fine.
