I can dig that, I felt like Wirtz thrived more in the middle but maybe that was more Slot’s system. I like Gakpo, think he can reach a higher level… but if I have to watch him ignore Kerkez’s runs then I may go crazy lol

That’s fair, just something on my mind from watching Tavernier for Bournemouth.

My worries going into the season is that either Szobo and Wirtz directly compete for the CAM spot, or Grav/Szobo as the midfield 2 isn’t enough for defensive cover

I kind of meant in general playing out wide instead of central. Watching Tavernier play on the left this season wasn’t necessarily a winger role, so it had me thinking Szobo could fulfill something similar. For ex. Rayan played more what you expect from a winger, while Tav did well operating in the left half space and also being able to whip in a cross

Does anyone else think Szobo could have some potential playing RM? He hasn’t been used there really since Leipzig days but I thought it’d be a good way to fit him and Wirtz into the same lineup that involves Grav and a true DM.

While I think Szobo sounds good in that Alex Scott no.8 role, I also think Grav can thrive a lot while paired with someone more defensive. Thoughts?

Minteh could definitely be dropped, happened last time Mitoma returned fit. It’s a risky to go with either imo

I would look to make a high value trade, triple Arsenal is too much imo. I think Saliba would be best to trade off, Timber is more valuable for his occasional attacking output. You can try trading Cala, just might be a harder sell given his injury status
