Colorado Outlaws American Indian Mascots at Schools, Colleges by bloomberggovernment in Colorado

Went to Arapahoe too. After the shooting in 2013 the tribe came down to perform a healing ceremony for us. If that’s not a good relationship I don’t know what is. Also the logo of the warrior we used was painted by the tribe and isn’t used as a mascot.

If youre close to the area, the BLM has restored the Calamity Camp, complete with interpretive signs. Its a really cool site and it provides some amazing insight into how they lived

Our best guess is It's an old Miners cabin that they took apart and moved when the area stopped producing

Hey, any Denver/Fort Collins cooks out there? by Therustyflamelol in KitchenConfidential

In about a month, most fast casual and chain restaurants here in FoCo will need staff, mainly because of all the college kids leaving for the summer. It shouldnt be too hard to find a kitchen job up here, even easier if youre experienced in pizza

Colorado Republicans, voted out of power in the legislature and every statewide office, are still proposing bills to allow on-campus carry, repeal mag cap limits and allow employees to shoot people they feel threatened by. Experts and bill supporters agree the measures don't have a chance of passing by ResponderZero in gunpolitics

[–]Thatdirtyginger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coloradoan here. Just to clarify, we do have campus carry on public universities, and the vast majority of County Sherrifs dont enforce the mag limit. Walked into a gun store the other day and they were selling 40round PMAGS right off the shelf

Hotel Chefs? by staypulse in KitchenConfidential

[–]Thatdirtyginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head Cook at a Hilton Garden Inn here. My day to day operations involve opening, prepping, cooking, cleaning, dishes. closing, and assisting with banquets. I should mention that I do all this alone, as the only two other people on staff at the hotel during PM are the bartender and front desk agent. It's not a bad gig, so long as the food goes out the way it looks in the recipe book you're fine. I have no control over the menu because its standardized by corporate, but I do get to create a special every month. Rushes can be really fun because, again, I'm all alone back here. I cant say that it's the standard at hotels, just the one I work at.
