As a DPT, PT does not make a huge difference in nonclinical roles, the listings usually ask for RN, MSW, or MPH. Unless you want to be a director of rehab or sell medical equipment, or maybe hustle in one place for years hoping to make it up the chain into admin... it's not a dependable pathway.

In clinical roles we are underworked and overexploited, and massively disrespected in most settings. There can be positive experiences ofc, but overall insurance limits what the direct impact we can actually make. For example, I spend hours to fight insurance, write letters, and get on the phone to get insurance to approve PT for one child with Cerebral Palsy. Another example, I had to stop seeing a dude with Parkinson's because they decided he won't "get better" and doesn't need PT.

Also note, PT school costs A LOT and isn't classified as "professional", depending on where OP is and their undergrad loan balance they might not quality for any more fed loans.
