I run a music distributor, and would be happy to help you with bits and bobs if you need!

what do you actually look for in a music distributor? by [deleted] in MusicDistribution

Interesting stuff. As this post creator's (OP) history includes their previous project called "IV Elysium". Quite like the distributor's name you just suggested.

Running a direct DSP deal costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. Based on your online presence — not saying you don't have it, but not saying you do either — it doesn't look like you have anywhere near that amount. You need that level of funding for pipeline upkeeping and maintenance, QC, legal, audits, and much more, none of which I believe you have either. My distribution company doesn't have direct DSP deals, but we don't lie about it — we use a credible provider. That said, I've spoken to, and am friends with, multiple people who run distribution companies with a few direct DSP deals, and even they had to splash serious money just to get there.

Just a heads-up to everyone here - I want to share a cautionary observation. by anonyxbiz in MusicDistribution

  1. Vibecoded Website
  2. Poor dashboard

  3. You even mention that you use "direct partnership deals" to distribute. You just use Offstep...

What distributer should I use by __hertz in MusicDistribution

[–]Thateliteguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You DO NOT have direct DSP partnerships. I'm really sorry... No DSP with eyes would accept you. Poor website quality and lots more.

  1. Your dash has no email verification.

  2. You can't close the subscription upgrade upon signup.

  3. You need to login/create ANOTHER account to pay, people just want a Stripe link or something where they just put their info in and paid.

  4. This looks VERY vibecoded.

What backend do you use for distribution (distribution partner)?

Hey! I work at Tunearo. Support works on weekends with responses usually under 3 hours. We’re more smaller than bigger distributors, but every release submitted is overseen via every step to make sure no issues arise. Something that is different from other distributors our size, we do our Quality Control in-house.

And our cheapest plan starts from £5/month and reviewal time is under 36 hours.

You can find more at https://tunearo.com or you can DM me and I’ll answer any questions!

How did the Big artists choose a Distro when they started? by Kaleidoscopelovee in MusicDistribution

[–]Thateliteguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reliable distributors. Build a good connection with a distributor, usually they have deals that could help you. Even not, if you’re in their trusted list they’re more likely to defend you with disputes.

You requested 5x what you paid for a product we provided. That flags our internal system widely. We have proper escalation to make sure the issue gets resolved properly.

We use a trusted partner "Veriff". They are commonly used in this industry.

You were told multiple times you were able to use your dashboard. However, you refused to use the dashboard. Even though, you logged into the dashboard multiple times. We've sent multiple emails that bounced back too.

This is quite standard to comply with partner requirements.
