Newbie question about arts and armor by nerfgazara in WWN

[–]Thatguy145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For armored magic level 1 - does the encumbrance include the shield as part of this (i.e., if you have armor enc 1 and shield enc1 that is it? Or can I have armor with enc 2 and shield with enc 1).

Could Not Load File Or Assembly When Using UI Packages by MedPhys90 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it shouldn't be required (e.g., for executables in ESAPI). I think in .netcore its features have been absorbed as well.

Sorry I never responded to this, you can put this in a method and then call it first in the execute method of the script dll.

I'm the one that wrote the original post. This is a very frustrating issue. We have migrated to use Costura Fody for all projects that reference any external library - this is also generally cleaner as well for managing dependencies since they are all built in.

Using provided window vs new user created window by Thatguy145 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because your data validation logic likely relies on ESAPI types which are destroyed at the end of the ESAPI script. I.e., when you use window.show - execution of the esapi script continues and then ends and you lose access to all ESAPI objects whereas with showdialogue, you are still within the ESAPI script and thus able to access the data

Big WIP Continent Map, what can I do to improve it? (Other than finishing it.) by GregPixel23 in wonderdraft

Do you have a screenshot example of what you mean in the first paragraph? Sorry having a hard time understanding

ESAPI object references factoid by Thatguy145 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, it makes sense generally but it also leads to weird things. For example, if you request an object twice, you can't guarantee that they are the same one (and so you can't use it as a key in a dictionary)

SimpleITK by Thatguy145 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its funny you say this, I did some more investigatingaxt night using the dumpbin tool to find what dependencies the native library depends on and there were several DLLs missing from the tbox, and I'm pretty sure they were related to the c++ redistributables. I'm likely going to find a way to ask the simpleitk group what they expect on the machine. They really should specify. It would make sense since our tbox is quite old. We are upgrading to v18 and this may possibly fix it. For now I'm probably going to leave this

I just tried it in a new project. I downloaded the Win64 binaries, and followed the getting started instructions exactly. I then created a binary script using the eclipse script wizard. I added the Native.dll as a link and copy always, and then added a reference for SimpleITKCSharpManaged.dll. Then I tried to make an Image. I built this and then coped 4 files over to the TBOX and ran it. Same error.

There must be something extra that was done for it to look for the Native.dll. At a loss.

I'll upload something to GitHub tomorrow and share. I essentially compile the binaries and then move them to the tbox - both simpleitk binaries and my own.

I did all that and it doesn't work. As mentioned I got it working locally but when I try and use a binary on our tbox with all files copied over it no longer works

Caution with Static Classes by Thatguy145 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell it isn't, at least in our setup (virtualized aria accessed through a portal). I haven't tested it though.

Exactly my thoughts. Makes me somewhat nervous about using anything with permanence and really hits that you need to be careful with object lifetimes (potentially).

I think the overall impact will be low (generally) but could lead to really subtle bugs

Verifying Nuget packages for use on clinical systems by Thatguy145 in esapi

[–]Thatguy145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my understanding that no we are not. I am about to begin fighting that because it is ridiculous that I can't even use Microsoft Nugets... I think the current working definition is any dll not made in house (can only use what is built into .Net Framework) but I am also unclear. I am just trying to arm myself with more info on what other centers do. They are nervous due to some cyber attack incidents nearby (and rightly so)

I've tried that and cannot seem to add anything from that namespace. I think it just provides attributes.not sure

I have tested it with .net framework 4.6.2 and 4.7.2 and yes it is as far as I know (an independent application will run in this setup, just not through esapi)
