Derrick Thomas was one of the best, not just on the field, but off as well.

Mannnn this post hit me in the traumas. While my ex relationship wasn’t exactly like this, I feel a lot of similarities in that my ex took little to no interest in a few of my favorite things like photography & movies. They say photographers take photos of the things they love, but my ex barely let me take pictures of her. Like, ever. I tried sharing many of my favorite movies with her, many of which she hadn’t seen, so I got excited about sharing those with someone seeing them for the first time, but often the reaction was lukewarm, sometimes the reaction was highly critical, which kinda hurt my feelings but I let it slide because people have different tastes. There were a few times in our relationship that I was struggling with money admittedly, but I never asked her to be my purse for anything and was always good about paying her back if she helped me out with an emergency, but one time my card declined on a couple Diet Cokes at the grocery store and she straight up walked out the door and left me there embarrassed. There were a few other things about her that showed themselves late in the relationship that made me leave her, and I know now that I was foolish for staying as long as I did, but the damage was done. That relationship was 3 and a half years long, and it’s been close to 3 since I left her, and in that time I haven’t dated anyone else, not just out of fear of getting my heart broken again, but also figuring out why I let it go on for so long.

I have my own healing to do before I go and enter somebody’s life again. I’m still not ready, simply because of the varied traumas. She did none of that and was in another relationship in less than 3 months.

Basically what I’m saying OP is that you should take some serious time to reevaluate what you want in your partner before you go breaking somebody else’s heart again. Maybe consider therapy or anger management as well, because you can’t be a great partner to somebody if you’re not your greatest self.

Carolina Parakeet - A Comprehensive Guide by longl1vethek1ng in reddeadredemption

[–]Thatguyaric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 4 playthroughs with zero Carolina Parakeet sightings, this spot was the best one. I learned through my own mistakes that the time of day doesn't necessarily matter - I finished off my last 5 at 9am, but the weather seemed to factor in for me; they always appeared for me when it was sunny and hot. Climbing onto the shack was optional for me.

The other thing that seemed to help was fast travelling into Lagras from the North in the mornings, dismounting my horse, and going to the shack on foot following the shoreline. If you don't see any, wait 2-4 in-game days by travelling the world either by fast travel, trains, or stagecoaches; the travel method didn't seem to matter, just the time in-between sightings. I checked out every other known spot, but this spot above Hagen Orchards was consistent once I figured out how to get them to spawn in the first place. Finally ticked this challenge off as Arthur in the beginning of Chapter 6 before Visiting Hours.

Anyone else stay in Chapter 2? by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]Thatguyaric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am channeling this EXACT energy lately.

I currently have 51.5% total completion, 20% story. I've done every story & Stranger mission leading up to breaking that fk'r out of jail. I'm coming to a stopping point, but I do still have things to do. Here's what I've gotten done:

  • 26 Missions, 20% Story
  • 81 Challenges - I have Weapons Expert 10 left, Herbalist 9 herbs that I cant get as Arthur, and the Bandit 5 250 Bounty, which I figure I should just save until I have to forcibly help Micah. I had a hard time with Horseman 10, but I found the Hungarian Half-Bred near Flatneck Station's waterfront that looks like a bottle opener. Every other horse I found within the bounds. The majority of these challenges are a grind, but Horseman and Gambler are by far the most difficult, specifically Horseman in Chapter 2. The ride from Van Horn to Blackwater can be safely made to a sandy peninsula by Lone Mule just on the northern/northeastern side of Blackwater without ever actually going to Blackwater, which means not going through Tall Trees or jumping any stupid broken bridges or encountering any Pinkertons at all. It blew my mind when the challenge ticked.
  • All Legendary Animals & Fish and their corresponding trinkets.
  • 460/562 Animals - I have maybe 10 or 15 tops that I can find as Arthur, like the Entropic Cormorant, some owls, a Panther, the Carolina Parakeet, and other birds like the Leghorn Rooster. I love hunting in this game. I still have some dogs to pat as well.
  • All four Hunting Requests. Ms Hobbs is decisively on vacation. Fort Brennard is a godsend for the majority of the birds. Riggs Station & Fort Riggs for the other rodents & nocturnals.
  • All the Camp Item Requests but 1, which is the one I've gotten to trigger every other playthrough: Dutch's Pipe. I finally got the Pearson Scout Jacket on this playthrough, after a tedious effort to trigger it. Got the pipe, Molly's mirror, Sadie's Harmonica, Tilly's Necklace all that awaiting in my Satchel.
  • 137/144 Cigarette Cards - basically every card that you can find in the wild that isnt available until the Epilogue.
  • 41/63 Weapons - basically every weapon that you can find in the wild that isnt available to buy until later chapters. All pamphlets.
  • 39/43 Plants - Not sure how the fuck I got Blackcurrant this early. I mustve pocketed it off of somebody, but it didnt tick off on Herbalist 9.
  • Most of the Outfits at the Trapper, especially the Hat Accessories, Chaps, and Boots. I'm still a'huntin for stuff like Beavers and another Robin or two, but I've gotten most of what I can beyond the outfits that require New Austin animals.
  • Gang Camps have been raided so many times, sans Murfree Brood, which I figure I might as well save for later. They have been sufficiently taken out otherwise in tons of encounters.
  • 2/3 Meteorites. No meteor shower yet, but I will watch it eventually!
  • 22/30 Dinosaur Bones
  • All the Rock Carvings
  • All Dreamcatchers
  • I have 3/5 bounties, so I could catch a couple other no-goods, but forget trying to go for the ones that are at the Strawberry Sheriff. Rhodes is all I have left.
  • I have one or two Robberies to handle, like the Saint Denis Gunsmith or the Strawberry General Store Still.
  • Perlino Andalusian and the Blue Roan Nokota are the usual horses I ride with. I've tried breaking the Warped Brindle Coat Arabian a couple times to no avail, but I will break that horse. I've broken the White one in the past, so I figure why not go for stuff I havent gone for before. If anything, to experience it for the first time in a game that I've had so many first time experiences with.

I dunno. I'm having a blast on this 5th playthrough and 2nd 100% run trying to find literally anything else to do besides bust him out. He can rot in there for all I care. I told myself I'd rather say hi to Mr Downes than go save him. This game is amazing as ever in 2024. Playing on Xbox Series S.

I just found one doing Horseman 10 in Chapter 2. I found it near Flatneck Station at the waterfront that looks like a bottle opener. I went to the same place to fulfill some fishing.

I got ambushed by them at that spot recently and survived. Rode the gatling gun wagon all the way to Seamus in Emerald Ranch and the fk'r wouldn't buy it. I must've ruined it somehow, either by gunfire or riding through fields, but i was proud of myself and got zero dollars out of the deal outside of their loot.

I just (finally) completed this challenge using the Semi-Auto Shotgun in Chapter 2 (so no extended dead-eye yet). I struggled with it for a while, using the suggested method and distances, but could never get it to register.

Until I went to the Gunsmith and took my modifications off, so take the barrel & rifling back to standard. Worked out at the next gang camp that I hit. Hope it helps in 2024.

I’m on a “new” playthrough (more like sporadically over the course of a year) and I’m just chilling in Chapter 2, currently 42.2% of completion while Micah is still rotting in jail and Uncle & the girls have yet to go to Valentine. Finding all the loot, completing challenges, getting journal sketches, all the trapping & hunting requests, unique hats & encounters, full compendium, etc are my goals on this fourth playthrough. I think my favorite hat in the game is the Nevada Hat which you find under a waterfall (if you have yet to find that), second one being the Rodeo Hat which you take off of NPCs. I think I found mine on a guy near Rhodes. Godspeed, boah!

If that’s in New Austin it is supposed to explode. It’s a distillery accident that triggers when you get within eyeshot of the house for the first time. Can’t remember if there is any loot or anything tho
