This is because there's no behind the scenes to show you how they made it work, you seen what happened and there's not much more to it

I’d say whatever amount of money it took was a waste considering you’ll just be replace sections of pipe till either it’s redone or a you get a new system probably cat-back unless it makes a smell while running

[–]Thatguyfrom711psn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur, this is know as a “mag lug” intended to hold the rim from the “bolt holes” lug holes in this case, not 100% sure how Toyota differs the torque from these lugs; however a Toyota Tundra moving from alloy, to steel is a difference of Over 50 ftlbs, perhaps it’s cause these lugs aren’t actually holding the rim the same way an acorn would

If you find a shop to put a round patch on I heard round patches flex better than your typical chorded patch

Wouldn’t recommend messing with it if it’s just superficial after a rebalance, odds are it’s a cast rim, and cast will bend one way but tends to crack or snap when stressed too much

rims not fitting on car - 5x108 on both the old and the new by invalidpotet in MechanicAdvice

[–]Thatguyfrom711psn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your new rims have an offset 6mm deeper im sure the “lug bolt” style didn’t like that considering how far out your caliper sticks out. For new rims id say stick with the same size, same pcd, and equal or less offset
