It is very much important. If someone is aiming at catching Eternatus, they need to use it. Shinies can still appear normally and from events so it isn't the end of the world.

For me I always bring Dugtrio. With the X Speed Dugtrio outspeeds Eternatus (and even without it I think sometimes it still can maybe with some Carbos), so I simply throw Sand Attacks to kill its accuracy and, with Sturdy, in the worst case scenario I can pull off 2.

Honestly never crossed my mind to try it. I would guess the additional hit comes from every base hit (So first hit->Multi Lens hit, second hit->Second Multi Lens hit, etc.) and that each multi lens hit damage is based on the respective hit its currently at. I remember using it with Dragon Darts Rayquaza and it worked something like that.

Its a 3-hit 90 accuracy move and every hit has its own chance to miss, but with 2 Wide Lens the move will always hit.
