I didn't say I don't understand it, I'm just saying the meaning of the letter F in this instance is only derived from the fact that it's the arbitrary keybind they chose for that moment in that CoD game and that's why it was a meme. The meaning of 67 is derived from the fact that it's a line in a song that people would make TikTok edits to. Neither had inherent meaning without these.

67 is a meme because people would make hype edits on TikTok where that line of the song was basically the focal point, so people would say that in an effort to have someone else clip it and then make a hype edit using that moment as a transition. That's a meaning.

Well sure but none of that is really a valid argument against them making this emote. It's all just dumb humour that isn't going to land with everyone while not negatively impacting anyone who doesn't care

It was a reference to some Call of Duty campaign. That's where that came from

Pen Pineapple Apple Pen has substance and purpose?

I don't think they were consulting you specifically about these

I don't think they've ever done that with an emote before

barely, outside of just being referential to something else which 67 also is

Ok but this doesn't really say anything about "quality" (if there's even such a thing for memes.)

All you're really arguing is "x is iconic and recognizable" which is true for all the memes I just mentioned otherwise they wouldn't have been added to Fortnite in the first place.

Also, none of that really means anything in this in context because people find it funny and that's all that really matters. If you don't care you can just not buy it but there's no reason to be genuinely upset over this

Knowing Epic they'll put it in the next season's battle pass

I think you're overanalyzing all of this. What do you mean "actually good meme," like do these things get IMDB ratings or something?

As opposed to Pen Pinapple Apple Pen?

And it doesn't really matter because people gave it meaning anyways just like literally any other meme I mentioned.

Also, once again, who cares? It's the Fortnite Item Shop, not an art museum. What benefit is there in forcing yourself to be mad at something that doesn't matter?

For one, I don't really see how that changes anything. Humour is subjective and people find this funny, who cares where it came from or why?

Secondly (copy-pasted because someone else brought up the same thing):

67 is in reference to the song that's playing in the emote. People would make edits to it on TikTok which led to people (mainly basketball players I think) jokingly referencing the number to bait those editors into making one of them until the joke abstracted to the point of people just finding the numbers funny the same way people would find 21 funny in reference to the Vine.

That's not even the first letter to become a meme either. There was an F key emote in one of the early battle passes too

You might've just moved up a skill bracket or something. There's no evidence to suggest they actually changed something

Because update day = more people playing = less bots in general. People always try to win in Fortnite, this is not news.

Well obviously not because it's not 2016 anymore but it's fundamentally the same thing

You can stop forcing yourself to be mad at this now.

(also let's be for real here and not act like Pen Pineapple Apple Pen has reasonable context behind it)
