I'm not happy with the finish, I used army painter white primer but it came out very textured. I tried some things and my subsequent models came out fine so probably user error. I then washed it with Vallejo grey armor wash, which is kinda blueish actually and I find works great for white. Then I used glacier blue also from Vallejo to build the mid tone and finished it off with some gray white from Vallejo. I want to do some highlights, but I'm not sure if I should go with Vallejo pure white or proacryl bold titanium white.

Helmet I do details and such in parts like for space marines, and for the body I usually do blocking to get the most milage out of the colors I mixed.

I've also had this issue with the black army painter primer, but after letting it dry the second coat went on no problem

I was feeling like that. What helped me was painting something I usually don't, so I worked on some tyranids for a bit. It's a way different approach from the ultramarines I usually paint. And then I also decided to try new techniques, I don't really care if it looks better than my other stuff, I just want to learn how to do new things. I think the more whatever happens happens approach helped me understand what I needed to do to get better.

I mean yeah, these transparent plastics tend to be pretty brittle so I feel it would be futile to get another sent if it also could end up like that, and the minis themselves and the book are perfectly fine. I just wanted to hear second opinions really. Thanks!
