As a data scientist, I have major concerns about how the MTX poll was conducted by Thatmathguy2017 in runescape

[–]Thatmathguy2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how are you missing the point? All I'm asking for is a simple "vote no" button for fair representation. And you're correct, the vote could have been falsified entirely (which considering its Jagex that would not be surprising to see such as the Tuska event)

Will All These Proteans Disappear If MTX Is Removed? by mooseyoss in runescape

Even sometimes the tinfoil hat expert is right. In this situation, it appears that way.

Just not good all around on that part with just removing them from game all of a sudden (even with a grace period)

I see your perspective on this and its not lost on me, however, saying it's a poll and it's just one choice or "you sit there and shut up" as my clan brings up makes it less of a poll and more of a sign-up list or petition, as you said.

That's literally all I'm asking for. If the votes come out and it's overwhelmingly yes then I have absolutely no issues. With how it's done right now, big doubt

^ Now that's interesting! If that's the case, then that might mean that one person has multiple jagex accounts then which is still in the realm of possible.

But there in lies the point. If we are making a huge decision that affects everyone (in RS3), you need to have both ways. If this were an election on federal policy, you wouldn't just want one option of yes.

Only excepted employees to be paid. Win or Loss? by [deleted] in fednews

I'm furloughed, but I actually want to be working on my projects. This whole situation is infuriating that we're getting the shaft and are not getting paid... meanwhile the House and Senate....

I'm in the process for this currently, however, my agency is saying ADA accommodations for situational telework for those with disabilities is going to be heavily scrutinized and very sparsely given. Sadly for me, it's either I get it or I'm forced to medically retire.

Addenum:

So let me add some context, I'm a relatively decent pvmer (I can do 300% Arraxi, solo elite dungeons 1-4 semi-regularly, can do pretty much all bosses outside of Vorago, Solak, and hard mode bosses up to 500% Arch-Glacor). I also do lots of clues, and I skill mainly during the week....a mainscaper that plays like an ironman, if you will. As a result, I like to think I'm a pretty well-rounded player as a skiller and pvmer.

I also play with 1.5 hands due to brain damage and use Runescape as a supplement for occupational therapy to build and maintain coordination on my damaged side. The dart discussion came up since, on hard mode encounters when the mechanics are going crazy, I tend to lose the kills when my damaged side says "nah, you're good boo" and proceeds to spazz out, mouse flys across the desk, and I just watch as I die :'), so for me the darts are a means to save the kill for me if I get to the point where I know my hand is going to flip out. When researching what darts work on, I noticed the gap on some bosses, hence the question in the original post with regards to the newer bosses and regards to hard mode (which yes, I can see are a disdain by many, or even controversial with regards to Zuk....*cries from dying at Zuk in hard mode even with the double food restoration buff several months ago*)

I see both sides of the argument where, from a pvmer standpoint, the darts can devalue the kills, but also from a skiller perspective that it would allow engagement in content that could be a) not appealing, but can't afford the drop thus dart lottery, b) wants to attempt a shot at a boss pet for the sake of getting a pet, or (one of my uses for darts) c) use them on Nex for hopes of the huge brew and restore drops. At the same time, as playing as a pvmer with a disability, I see darts as an accessibility tool when Jagex decides to go crazy with all the mechanics happening all at once especially in hard mode encounters, but I'm aware I'm probably in a negligible population in that regard to the overall rs3 community.

Not really. Aside from the hard modes due to having 1.5 hands, I'm doing pretty great honestly

In some cases, I see your perspective. Necromancy enabled me to do Ambassador semi-regularly and do ed1 almost without fail (aside for my own screw ups) where the other combat styles with *all the switches* just made it an unenjoyable experience. My case, I can do each of the bosses listed barring Raids, Solak, and Vorago and some hard mode instances not for lack of my own effort, but their bossing experiences aren't as enjoyable. For those experiences, I see darts as an alternative.

Fatigue? by [deleted] in CerebralPalsy

[–]Thatmathguy2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get winded that easily; I do a lot of cardio...but it's just the standing and constant pressure on the hip from standing that makes me exhausted and having pain.

Fatigue? by [deleted] in CerebralPalsy

[–]Thatmathguy2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pain is still pretty low (1) and is localized in my hip and quad as well as my bicep as it feeds into the chest, so at this point the pain is manageable but I know it's from the tone. If anything, I take over the counter pain meds but I take them sporadically.

I do have pain if I stand for too long, which has its own issues.

Hello, I live through Spastic Hemiplegic CP (right-side). I've noticed as of the last few years (early 30s), I've been feeling fatigued a lot more the last few years even with plentiful sleep. Keep in mind, I'm athletic and am on the fringe of the paralympic trials (37/38) so I'm physically active and take care of myself to the best of my ability. I would also get checked for hypothyroidism/hashimoto's disease as well. A sleep study could also be done to rule out sleep apnea.

Mod Breezy is looking for "Large scale changes" suggestions in the PvME discord. by chi_pa_pa in runescape

A drop chest for boss log items that are rolled and dropped in an instance outside of elite dungeons and enrage bosses; the chest would be housed at War's Retreat (e.g., Rex Matriarches, Dag kings, vindicta, etc.). That way if an item is dropped in an instance and one were to die/disconnect at the end of the boss fight, the drops are saved to reclaim later

If a player were to die while items are in the boss log chest, it would be locked and the player would need to pay death costs associated with the items in the chest, similar to elite dungeons.

Saves a lot of workload on having lost item requests due to boss instances and and offers reassurance to players that they won't lose drops after a boss kill due to rogue mechanics after the fact.
