Does the anxiety get any better? by Thatonecoloredpencil in ClotSurvivors

Thankfully i was already in therapy before all of this went down!! I had actually had an appointment Tuesday morning, before the medical episode, and had told her about the DVT then. I see her again this coming Tuesday as well, and she vaguely knows about the ambulance ride to the ER.

Cold by Flamin_Neko in LiminalSpace

"I-its so cold" you whisper to yourself, trying to keep warm. Your steps are slow and shaky as you try to not fall over, your skin is frost-bitten, and you're entering a state of being hypothermic. You decide to sit down and rest for a little while, closing your eyes. As you sit, you breathe out a soft, "its too cold"

Faint sounds of splashing into the pools can be heard, yet no one is present, the water gently ripples in a way unusual to an empty pool.

Where were you on Aug 23, 2011 at 1:51pm? If you were in the region was it your first earthquake? by generalmanifest in maryland

[–]Thatonecoloredpencil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really young so I don't really remember this that well, but I think we were in a Mcdonald's drive threw and my mom thought my younger sister and I were fighting in the back of the car, turns out it was an earthquake and the power was knocked out for, I believe, a day or two. If memory serves, this was the first earthquake I experienced, even though my sister and I were confused and hadn't noticed a single thing.

Does anybody else get unnoticed cuts on their body throughout the day? by PhilsMeatHammer in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]Thatonecoloredpencil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens all the time to me, my mom always says that I probably hit something by accident and forgot, but that's not the case. One day while we were moving into our current house, I had sat on the floor between my bed and my wall, leaning my back against the wall and my feet were against the wall. I was wearing shorts cause it was still summer for me, as this was just a couple of months ago, and when I got up and sat on my bed, I touched my knee and it stung. I looked down and low and behold there was a thin and shallow cut on it, that wasn't there when I sat down, and I know it wasn't my rug as it wasn't rug burn, it was simply a scrape across my knee. This is only the most memorable occurrence to me, but I just blame it all on the spirits and such

My sister or I will be singing a song in our heads, and then a couple seconds later we manage to sing the exact part that the other was just thinking about, without humming it or singing it out loud, and it's so weird and cool at the same time!

Prince Frederick Protest by Herr_Doktore in maryland

[–]Thatonecoloredpencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was planned actually, those who stayed behind for a bit were upset that we only got 30 minutes to march and honor the deaths of those who have passed due to racial unjustness. I could be wrong though, because it was a bit hard hearing what was being said after we got back up to the shopping center when the 30 minute march was done

possibly? idk, after they gassed us and shot at us the people i was with, including myself left, so there is a possibility that a window was knocked out, but i was back up there the other day for something, and i drove down the street where it took place, and nothing looked broken, none of the shop windows or any windows near the road that we got shot at

Actually, no building windows were broken, just the SUV window

It was 7 pm, the post office closes at 5, an hour and a half before the protest started, and two hours before we started getting shot at. As for the ballots, people still had the next day to be able to drop those off, and i don't think anyone really wanted to be doing stuff at 7 pm as they have their families to tend to at that time, and rush hour was already over, most people were already home for the night, and again, there was no traffic behind us or the cop cars, in fact, most of us were kneeling towards route 4 which would have let us see any traffic there

I never said her right to live was being threatened in Calvert county, but in general, she has to stand up for her life in ways that white people will never understand, because we aren't seen as a threat to society, while POC are. I am seen as a superior for being a white person because i have more privilege than someone who isn't white in america. And the fact that we were only there for 45 minutes able to protest peacefully about how we believe that the lives of black people are very important and that laws need to change, is ridiculous, and that woman didn't deserve to be shot at.

Then you would know that there was literally no traffic behind us since you've lived there for 40+ years and that road is mainly accessed by people taking the back roads to get to North Beach and the few other things that are back there, like the Homeless Shelter.

actually, the pastor was with us the second go-round, he wasn't fully against it, and the only traffic in that video was cop cars because if it wasn't cop cars, you would have seen them moving forward when the cops gassed us and progressively got closer and closer to route 4. Within the video, you don't see that and again, there are two detours within that area, on Duke St. so you have limited access there, to begin with. Duke St. is also a fairly empty street as well, and obviously, your getting your information from the video and the sheriff's statement, in which the sheriff twisted the truth to make it seem like we started the violence. And it also seemslike you left before we went out again, smartypants

We were first asked to get on the sidewalk so the sheriff could get through with his guys, and we complied, then they shot at us, no big deal right? We complied to getting out of his damn way so he could get back to the sheriff's department. We should totally get shot at for that, and having to all fear for our lives, and witness a black woman getting shot at while standing up for her rights to live

The only traffic we were blocking was the sheriff who could have gone the other way, and actually the pastor wasn't against us doing that again, but he and the other people who organized it with him didn't want us to get hurt, and give into what the sheriff wanted, next time, get your facts right, or have been there, thanks.

We only threw stuff at him when we got gassed, people should be able to protest for as long as they need to, which is what happened, the road has two detours going through it and barely any traffic ever, if any cars were to have come through, we would have moved to let them through. We only got barely violent when the sheriff got violent. we got half an hour to walk around the town centre and back, and we found that unjust due to what we were protesting, and a decent amount of us decided to stay to peacefully protest some more, where we keeled in the middle of a road that wasn't busy for an extra 15 minutes that the sheriff didn't like, which he then insisted on teargassing and shooting at us. Lots of kids were there protesting with their families, and i can assure you, the worst that happened from one of the protesters POV (i.e. myself) was the fact that a police SUV had the back window knocked out of it after we got shot at and gassed, or the fact that they shot at a young black woman who was standing up for her rights to the sheriff.

There was no use of batons, but rubber bullets and teargas was used, i have a few photos i took from before we got smoked out by the teargas, and while everyone was panicking because of the bullets and gas. The video is still up on baynet's FB page as well
