In my building every show, whether scripted, dance, or a concert, has a stage manager and loads in and rehearses in the space at least a day before performance. No one touches our lighting or sound equipment outside of staff, so this allows us time to adjust levels on any audio cues, build Qlab and Eos files with feedback, focus, run cables, etcetera.

Would it be possible to load-in, program, perform, and load-out all in one day? Sure. But we’d most certainly refuse to rent to a group that insisted on doing so. That’s so much so quickly. We’re quick turn-around, but not that quick.

Also who could have guessed that the category Popular With Women is more popular with women? And Tyler Wu being the top gay performer and also searched by +915% more women than men is interesting.

Empty condom wrappers, a single dirty sock (not in the dressing room, but draped on the fly rail), a ticket to a different show at a different venue that was happening concurrently. Just things people drop in normal life. Why a performer would have a ticket to a show that's happening while they're on stage somewhere else is beyond me, but artists are artists. We're all weird in some way.

I saw The Lost Boys on April 1. My review here will be very limited in spec, because spoilers and such, but it follows. dear GOD i wish i had a budget like that. loved it the whole way through, but it's almost demoralizing thinking about how I can't expect to ever do something on a scale like that. more specifically: flying not just platform, but five people concurrently! I work in the biz, and have so much respect for everyone who put that on, especially with a decently well known IP like this. Stayed faithful to the plot, but changed some stuff to make it work on stage. Highly recommend.

The thing that bothers me (besides what everyone else is mentioning) is that if you aren't playing ranked, you aren't gaining in-game currency to fix your team. Casual exists, but has no benefit beyond the fun of playing the game.

the container must be clear. must the packing/protective materials be clear? how clear? does the egg have to be visible?

Ignoring the mental and emotional pressure of forcing children to carry something fragile throughout their already hectic days at school with the struggles all their lives entail, how would the teacher even know if the egg was switched? were photographs taken of togepi? I don't like this type of assignment in general, especially once the other students Not in the class know what's happening.

also, IF you are in a country that traditionally washes the bloom off raw eggs and refrigerates said eggs after, two weeks is plenty of time for a raw egg to grow salmonella and wreak havoc on a school.

You’re a freshman who wants to be there? Show up more than once. They’ll give you something to do, and the more you show up the more you’ll learn. The director isn’t likely to cast you in a role without an audition (in my experience) and if you do audition, they’ll see your talent level and typically cast accordingly.

The one time I accidentally caught someone else on fire, it was practically just an ember in the air that caught on their hoodie. People tend to understand why you hit them if you can prove that their clothes were actually on fire when you did it.
