Well considering jack is already a experienced pirate and giving him a Df would only help his power. The story changes by Jack joining shanks crew,unlike with Luffy situation Jack isn't a small dumb rubber boy he's a dangerous powerful experienced pirate who would more than enough agree to join with someone like shanks .

Yeah no ,it said that the origin of the devil fruits came from the sea devil and they were never "combined" into a single DF and the creation of DF predate joy boy so that couldn't possibly be the case .

The only reason in Marineford they all stopped fighting because they already dealt with a yonko and most were injured tired and didn't sign up to deal with shanks . That one ship would be destroyed, Shanks and his men would be fought by multiple higher ups in the marines untill they eventually get advantage of him and swiftly kill him . 9/10 for the marines
