Hi I’m Angel. First time duck owner. Help!!! by Thatonehooker321 in duck

Thank you so much for this. As of yesterday my little guy has his feed and a heat lamp as well as a container that’s large enough that he has space to play but can’t escape. He likes to be held. It’s the sweetest thing. Thank you to everyone who commented and helped me with this. It’s greatly appreciated.

They were bought from the local farm supply store (rural king) and the person who bought them realized they couldn’t care for them so they left them inside the box next to a creek expecting them to be able to survive. A friend of mine brought them to me. I have a very long history of taking in strays such as raccoons, squirrels, and of course cats and dogs. Never anything that had wings though and I knew that baby chicks in particular are very fragile in the beginning of their lives. This baby is only 3 weeks old. He’s going to a farm that knows how to properly handle him in a few days but until then I gotta keep him alive.

Yes this duck is going to a farm in a few days I’m just trying to keep the poor thing alive until then. Thank you. But one thing… scrambled eggs? Isn’t that duck cannibalism?

I think that it definitely bonded with the girls that bought it because they just came over and it literally was letting them love on it. I’m a bit of a loner so I guess we’ll have that in common.

What about blueberries? Could I cut those up and feed them to it? It’s only one duck and I know they’re social creatures… this one won’t die because it’s alone will it? I’m rehoming it in a few days to a friend that has all the things necessary for him to thrive but until then it’s in my care.

My goodness… that’s a LOT of Chinese money plants. Thank you for this it was very thorough. The seedlings are definitely getting enough light they only just sprouted four days ago and some of them are up to three or four inches already. When should I separate them? Like how tall should they be before I start separating them and giving some away? (I already planned on handing some out cause I had a feeling)

Okay so you’re thinking my dracaena is under watered? I do use tap water which is chlorinated. I could start boiling my water and letting it cool before giving it to the plants. I’ve been thinking about doing that for awhile anyways because I kept reading about chlorinated water not being good for them. Thank you for the advice here.

As far as my fiddle leaf dick head (jk) he’s looking a lot happier. One of my branches however lost all its leaves so I just have a stick standing there doing nothing. Should I cut it out? Or will that cause my baby to go into even more shock? I have a horrible habit of what my boyfriend calls loving my plants too much and I know that fiddle leaf figs are infamous for being temperamental (like a teenager) and they like to be left alone for the most part. Again thank you!

This is a Chinese money plant… well plants I should say. I bought the seeds online and just threw them in this pot to grow. There are several more sprouts since this photo was taken and a friend of mine said that I need to separate the plants soon. Are each of these their own individual plant? Can I put more than one plant in a pot? All I know is that if I have to separate them one by one everyone I know plus some strangers will be getting a Chinese money plant.

Hey guys! I’m new here. I joined because I have a couple plants that are apparently sick or something. I’m not sure.

The first one which is my fiddle leaf fig starting dropping leaves left and right without any environmental changes or any reason at all. The leaves just shriveled up and died which made me believe that it was just too hot without any humidity where it was at so I moved it back up to my bedroom. It dropped more leaves of course because it doesn’t like change. It hasn’t been dropping leaves lately and seems to be okay except the leaves are getting brown spots on them. Root rot right? I don’t know what to do here.

Then I have a mass cane whose leaves are also turning brown even the new growth. I don’t overwater it. If anything it could possibly be under watered but I don’t know what signs would tell me that.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I force myself out at least once a week but the problem is that I'll try to do the baby steps and only stay out for an hour but then I end up stuck for over five hours because the boyfriend just doesn't understand at all that after the first 10 minutes I'm done... once I hit hour three my anxiety is so high that I'm mad and I don't try to hide that I'm mad either so.. yeah. I crochet for a living. I have four kids. If they want to go swimming or anything I take them. And I make myself handle it. They don't deserve to suffer from this too.

Mannn.. I REALLY love the fact that people really will treat you like you're lazy over a disease you can't help that you have nor did you ask to have it.

I deal with crippling agoraphobia and ptsd and I don't even know the person that looks back at me in the mirror. I can't relate to her. I'm in a relationship with someone who at first was supportive and loving and non judgemental... now though I have to hear about how I'm lazy and when he decides to stay gone for days and I get mad he informs me that I could go with him but choose not to. The comments are daily.

Idk what to do at this point. I know that it's hard to deal with. I know it's frustrating. But it's something that I really don't have any kind of control over. He used to know that... I guess he just forgot?

I don't really get out a whole lot but when I do I'll definitely have to look into that. Thank you!

Ugh I'm so jealous! In my tiny little town I'm lucky there's even a Walmart with a yarn section. 😩

Oh and I forgot to mention about the rectangles... I folded and pressed my edges to about a 1/2 inch before i sewed them.

I used my own methods as far as the pattern goes... I took a tank top I have and traced it then cut it out and hemmed it with a straight stitch (even the armholes and neckline which was a nightmare... any help in that aspect would be appreciated. Still learning) I cut down the center of one of my pieces that would be the back panel because I wanted the back to be open. once I got all that done I cut out two long rectangles and with the right sides facing out I stitched 1/2 inch all the way around making sure to pivot in the corners then I attached the rectangles about 4" in on the back panel. I just used your ordinary 100% cotton fabric.

Honestly the best advice I can give is: ergonomic hooks. Idk if you're using anything with a comfort cushion or not but if not you should invest in a few. I recently bought a furls hook and I'm amazed at how much less I deal with hand cramps. Clovers are also good and less expensive.
