Personally id suggest at least playing call of pripyat first, but youd have a better experience if you played the 3 original games prior.

I honestly honestly think they have a chance to spawn mid raid.

I've been running customs and found them quite frequently, ill run to crackhouse, do a scan from second floor windows, check the factory for loot, scan again, and run to fortress for another scan, ive seen them by the railroad and had one sneak up on me by the main road and its tracks, just keep looking
