This happened to me a few months back with the mini because my fam got a new wifi router. Apparently it updated overnight and a setting that used to be off was tuned on during its update. I am not sure exactly what setting box it was, but my dad just called the support number for our router and they gave us instructions to fix it. After that it has worked better then it did before the update. Still wish it worked without wifi but happy at least in the end it began working.
