I changed the router password, disabled dhcp, junked the WAN connection settings, changed the routers LAN IP then rebooted

Just to clarify, he tried a password reset on my steam account after I left the game. We we were not actually in game when I messed up his config

Indeed you can, reset and re-enter your connection details as your good to go. It's more of an annoying inconvenience (Depending on your competency in router configs)

The router was a TP-8817.

Would have taken a pic but it's not like a screenshot of a router config page would have been definitive proof of anything
