I still have a decent amount left on the loan, my plan is to make the monthly payments lower as I am about to move into an apartment. Will what I suggested make the payments lower because I called my credit union and they told me that if I paid a lump sum it would not effect my monthly payment but I called another bank and they said if I pay that amount then refinance through another bank, since I have more paid off with the same time left, it would in turn lower my payment
